Nah what pissed me off was the fact he thinks hes too good to work on holidays like the rest of us who have to support there families. If target and etc stores shuts down it will hurt there employees who need the extra holiday pay to support there families. So in the end hes only thinking about himself and not others.

But for my store holidays are time and a half and you get an extra dollar per hour between 11pm and 6am or something . Did you try telling your boss you simply couldn't work that early before you just quit?
i love how the government workers NEVER work on ANY holiday. They create holidays all the time, just to have another long weekend. At least in Canada anyways. And yet, every year, they allow for more malls to be open on holidays, for longer hours. We talking about the same gov't officials here. I guess they need something to do on so many days off! The paradox is that lower class people who work in the service industry need to work their asses off during holidays so that these cock suckers have something to do! i.e. go shopping, eat in restaurants etc. My point is, if you work on a holiday not by choice, its because rich people need you to be there, so they can enjoy their day off!
I've worked with plenty of people in regular set schedule jobs (office, factory) that would whine and bitch about working their regular hours that they always have and always will as long as they work at these places. They were always coming up with excuses to leave early or calling in sick. I used to get annoyed having a Saturday sprung on me but I was salary so overtime was pointless, but I still did it. This dude must not realize that with his petition if he pisses his employer off they can always find ways to fire you and get away with it. It sucks but it happens.

The point is that this guy doesn't think workers should have to work on holidays. You act like theyre forcing him to work, businesses have the right to operate when they want to. If he doesn't want to work the hours then he's not a good fit for the job, its not like he couldn't give notice that he needed thanksgiving off. When you work a part time low retail position you don't exactly get to pick and choose your schedule anyway lol.. It's life.
