im sorry to say that ima have to go a little skimpy on the lights for my new first grow.... ok well heres the system i was gonna use for the veg... and do i need different types of lights for vegging and flowering .... this is gonna be the ballast http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=45693 ... and for the lights i was gonna use this http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=47851 .. im not growing more than 1 at a time so im not too worried about the power but i think this light setup will be good for a closet grow but do u think this is all i need
its good to have two types but hps system is good for both stages of growth best for flowering i am told, and kicks out abit of heat hehe so get a good venting system in place if u intend to closet grow if u dont have one already that is. If ur short on cash check ebay for used systems i got all growing equipment from there at a very reasonable price compaired to new shop bought equipment. i use 600w HPS (growlux bulb) 12'' RuckinlineFan (extraction) 4'' Outside Line (fanless tube) GL with ur grow hope this helps Den
For $35 more HTG has a complete 400w HPS lighting kit that requires no wiring, ballast is in a housing, it includes a reflector, and I think they still throw in a timer. In the long run I think you would be wise to buy that. You will need a timer, and I think the idea you have would require buying some more wiring and such, so the extra $$ is less than $35 apples-to-apples. Eat lunch at home instead of going to McDonald's for a week and you've just about saved up the difference.
