Lights - Ballasts, Fixtures?, Bulbs

    Hey i'm going to start up my grow room in a bout of month and i was just wondering;

    From the ballast to the bulb, what is the connection?
    Does the bulb connect to the ballast and just hang there? I've searched and searched but found little information about this. And can a ballast just plug into your wall?

    I would really appreciate some help here, or even some links to some great information.

    First things first… I can only hope you understand not to set-up your own wiring if you aren't 100% sure that it's correct. No variation, either know, or get someone you know who does.

    Most luminaries are wired for the ballast they come with and are 'murphy-proof', to say the plugs only go one way.

    If you're piecing items together it would run: power source - ballast - socket - hood (reflector).

    Basically (as I understand it) a ballast excites and regulates the charge.

    Truly, I know you won't be unsafe Bud, a hot box can cause more than a tripped breaker.
