Ive got some Kush seeds and ive got the process down for when i start growing but im having trouble aquiring lights. Ive been told High Pressure Sodium or HID lights 200 watts and then 400 watts once i go 12-12 to veg it. Now im looking in Home Depot for light fixtures and i see white halogen for alot cheaper then any 240 dollar HPS light fixture and im wondering "hey, can i use this" because that will save me a ton of money. My second question, what do people think about the flowering time of Hindu Kush?
don't know shit about kush, but do not-i repeat do not use halogen. they are all the wrong spectrum and put out tons of heat. all home depot will have for hid lights are the parking lot/streetlight style hps and mh. you'll need to do some butchering and wiring to get it suitable for growing. are you going to have a separate veg and flower room, or is it gonna be start to finish in one area? if separate rooms, then a 200w mh for veg and a 400w hps for flower would be sufficient and ideal. if your gonna only have a one section grow area/room then get a 400w or larger hps and buy a mh conversion bulb.
Yeah dude, I dont have 240 dollars to shell out for a light and money extra for a conversion bulb. ANd yes im doing the whole thing in a closet.
