lights and heat

  1. So I have a 250 watt hps in a small, 10 ft^3 growing space. I have a 220 cfm fan ventilating it with a smaller intake fan. This means at max efficiency I can vent my space completely every three seconds. Any ways, my temp on the edge of my light stays around 80 degrees. If I move the thermo directly under the light it reads 110. To my hand, the temp doesn't feel so hot but as it stays I can feel the intensity of the light. This is at about 8 inches from the light. I don't know whether I need to be worried and if I do what I could do. It seems my ventillation is far more than adequate. I should say that I am skeptical about accurate temp recordings under the light because my thermo is black and I think it is probably absorbing a great deal of light energy and heating up higher than the ambient temp. Thanks.
