Lighting Upgrades

Discussion in 'Lighting' started by winks00, Mar 13, 2021.

  1. I asked these questions on the hydro forum by mistake and was advised to submit the same question here..

For a while now, I have been using 2 Vipraspectra 1200 and 2 Vipraspectra 1000 LED lights in my 6x6 room and it has worked but I am always looking for ways to improve or upgrade. I have been thinking about going with a Quantum Board setup, and it looks like the QB96 are the hot thing right now, but I was hoping to find out:
Is 4 or 5 of the qb96 enough?? Or should I go for a larger size? And how many?
And lastly, does anyone have a list of what all is needed to do the set up.. I am very handy and can do the electrical connections, but I do not want to order 100's of dollars worth of stuff that is unnecessary.. I have researched and can't seem to find a list or and how to on how to do the set up...

    Thank you for your help!!

If I had to buy more lighting today it still would be the 2v288 r spec boards

  3. If you went with the QB96's, you'd preferably have 12. Each set of 3 96's running on one hlg-320h-54a would be one way of doing it, and give you around 1400 watts to play with. Without co2, you'd probably be running them closer to 1100 watts during flower.

Then you'd need a DC meter, a cheap computer power cable, and a junction box for each driver. You'll also want some wagos and 18 gauge solid wire.
