  1. hi i have a 150 watt hps sysyem and just wonderin has anybody seen or know anywhere i can get a hps to a mh bulb ? i really cant find one. i see that they have mh to hps. but not the other way around. thanks

  2. can anybody help me on this one. i would really like to get this

  3. Im not really sure what your asking? Do they make ballasts to run both HPS and MH bulbs? yes.

  4. I think your looking for a MH Conversion bulb. It is a MH bulb that works in a HPS ballast. I know a bunch of places carry them, but I have never seen a 150 W version. AgroMax makes MH conversion bulbs... you might want to check their website.

    Good Luck

  5. I checked all my usual sources and nobody seems to have a conversion bulb for the 150w system. Looks like you may have to go up to a 250w to find both.

  6. yea i could not find anything either. what about a blue enhanced hps bulb for a 150 hps

  7. Gall, yeah sorry, I spent the night looking on google last night with no luck, Ill look some more today, have you maybe looked into the CMH's at all? I dont know a whole lot about them but I know other users here have used, not sure if it helps or not.

  8. wow thanks i have never heard of CMH what is that

  9. yea i just looked at that i never knew about those. but i stil do not think they make them in 150 w one if u can find one i would love it

  10. Well from what I am seeing, it looks like the cmh's should run in some/most of the better Hps ballasts, ---

"Ceramic Metal Halide lamps are currently not available in sizes over 400 watts. Philips is working on it, however there is no ETA.

The CMH lamps 150w and lower should work with digital ballasts.

250w and 400w CMH lamps will NOT work with ANY digital ballast EXCEPT the ones SPECIFICALLY made to fire CMH lamps.

250w and 400w CMH lamps will work with most good quality 250w (ANSI S50) and 400w (ANSI S51) HPS ballasts.

    How was CMH Invented.
its the Arc tube of HPS and the Gases of Metal halide Basically.. and it created something totally new..
theres a few reasons it hasn't come to our Market faster but thats great all the bugs are out..

Ceramic Metal Halide ( CMH ) competes and Whomps the EYE Hortilux Blue (MT400D/HOR/HTL - BLUE)
comparing the 400 horizontals.. as the vertical 400 and both vertical and horizontal 250 cmh has 20K hours 5k longer than 400 WOW!

    .................................EYE-BLUE..........CMH
Ballast........................MH-Probe..........HPS (easy conversion for hps users)
    Price .........................$90-100............50-70
    Life............................12,000Hrs.........15,000Hrs
    Initial Lumens...............29,000.............34,800
    Mean Lumens ..............22,000.............29,600
    Lumen maintenance.......64%................85%

Now when you take the last 4 lines and really look at that your actually getting Twice the lamp for half the cost..

not only do you get more initial and Mean lumen's a longer life and more usable life (IE 85%)
the CMH has higher Red to Blue ratio and thats what we WANT to promote better Flowering "
theres a huge thread i came across here too:

What I would do, is look up your ballast online and see if you would be able to run the cmh, your bound to find something online for your ballast and those bulbs somewhere. if not post and ill look more too. lol.
