I want to get a second light to help with flowering as I’ve heard the viparspectra lights veg well but lack red spectrum for flowering.
I was thinking of picking up a 2700k CFL bulb probably a 50w.
Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this?
I’m looking to spend under $70 because like I said this will be a SECONDARY light to provide more red spectrum.

  2. 4 QB 120's in 3000k range. Put em on the walls as side lighting but u will be over a hundred bucks, but money well spent I would think

  3. Not helpful....
    That’s WELL OVER $100....

  4. The $70 ur gonna spend isn’t gonna do buttjack for ur plants unless it’s under $70 homemade COB or QB.

  5. I think Dead Head was helpful by at least answering your question, for that budget unless you build them you're probably just wasting your money and thats an honest opinion. Also 450w isnt enough light for 4 plants IMO so you may have to spend more anyway. Grab some QB's and build some good lights your plants will repay you in the long run

  6. I’m not planning on keeping 4 plants
My seeds aren’t feminized so I’m hoping for 1-2 females

Between the viparspectra 450 (actual draw 200w) and 2x 2700k 105w CFLs would I be able to draw ~~0.5-0.75 gpw?

Like I’ve said QBs are out of my budget so as great as they are and as much as they can return in the long run I CANNOT GET THEM

  9. LED light is not really best measured in watts nowadays but rather by PAR/PPFD rating and spectrum (9 band, 12 band, full spectrum ect ect) ... watts is a really really bad way to rate an LED light as PAR rating is king regardless of wattage ... what you want is the PAR specs of your light to tell how high to have them ect ect. ... each light should have PAR chart tellign you the PAR of your light at 6", 12", 18", 24" and 30" inch ... you want to Veg plants in 600-800 PAR and flower them at around 900 PAR

and the reason why is below

  10. here are the PAR specs for the 450 viparspectra ... put ur seedlings at like 300-400 par .. then when you are veging them put them at 600- 800 and around 900 for flowering ...

now manufacturers like to bullshit about their PAR specs ... so always air on the side of keeping them lower unless you see bleaching or burning of the top leaves. Although their specs should be good enough for a decent grow anyways.
