.. Okay, I got this desk light, it says UV Filter-001... and it's about 20watts... i know it is the greatest but for a low budget, can i use that to grow the plat, and I know not to keep it too close to the plant... help please!
I am assuming its halogen. First its only 20 watts with a UV filter, Second its halogen, so I would say no, you cant. There are 3 main lights you want to stick with. High Pressure Sodium(HPS), Metal Hilade(MH), and Compact Flourescent Lights(CFL) or standard Floruscents too. You want to stay away from incandescent(like a lamp bulb) and Halogen. They are the complete wrong spectrum and do have the lumens or watts necessary to sustain growth and complete the flowering process. This subject as been beat to death. Try seaching the forums or even reading a few pages worth the threads and I can guarentee someone has already asked this.
