hi have germinated some bag seeds for my first grow and i have them in a old computer case turned grow box i have 8 sprouts i know i have to kill a few of them cause i dont have enough light i have 2 20w cool,natural light cfl's on them right now and they all lokk about the same in growth their about 3 days old and around 2 inches tall and the little weed loking leafs are about 3-4 cm and still growing every hour of the day but my question is is it possible to grow with these light till the end or am i definatly have to buy more they say they are 1150 lumens and 6500k what should i do and how do i know which ones to kill ???
no one has replied because this information is in the stickies and some people get annoyed when people dont search for things! but welcome to the forums, and I can tell you straight away, that you have no where near enoguh space or light for the entire grow, youd be seriously pushing it even if you were only gonig to take one of those babies all the way. go read up, sort your setup out and then give us some pics yeah? glhf
i dont plan on growing till the end in the case but in a biggger spot will i need more light and how do iknow which one to kill
Hi there. It's worth a read on the jounals. See how others are doing. Learn by their mistakes etc. But all the same, it's nice to have a little tlc information from others, if you haven't got the time to read so much. I'm a newbie. Just started growing for person use. I'll send you a message, contain something I found a couple of days ago. I hope it will help. Where's the compassion on this site. It's not only to show what you have grown, but it wouldn't hurt much to help each other out. Even with those that don't look up. They might have their own personal reason why they aren't able to.
You will need much more light. Even to finish vegitating them you will need more light. Get a couple more daylight CFL's to veg with. How many plants do you plan on flowering? Have you thought about HPS? You'd need a lot of CFL's to flower 8 plants.
sorry601smoker i didn't mean to add any harshness to that reply, i too am very unexperienced, and have asked many allready asked questions by mistake! but yes like i sed, all the information on here is good, read through get a good idea of what others are doing right and wrong, and show us some pics when you can! good luck once again
You have to grow them until the flowering stage. Once you can determine the sex of each individual plant. Then you know. kill all the males and let the females grow.
yep see this is the problem i am currently facing. i have enough light/space for 1 or 2 plants, but i've got to take 4 till the end of vegging or pre-flowering so i can determine their sex and chuck the males! dont worry about determining sex yet as you have a long way to go before that. one more thing, unless you have a big budget (which it would appear you probably dont, neither do i) i probably wouldn't veg all 8 cus thats alot of space your gonna need! maybe jsut take the best 4 out of the 8 about a week in. If you do things well and the plants aren't stressed, then you can hope for a greater than 50% success rate of getting females so your looking then at 1 or 2 plants
