  1. I went to check my lights had turned on this morning and the ballast is clicking and the bulb flashes but won’t ignite, any recommendations please!
    Thanks.

  2. Get some quantum boards.

  3. The ballast and bulb are only 3 days old also

  4. You likely need a new ballast

  5. Any reason why this might be? It’s only been running for a max of 40 hours from new

  6. Try a different bulb. Make sure the bulb isn't loose or anything. Otherwise, defective ballast.

  7. iv took the bulb out and had a proper look, the bulb has cracked somehow, there is now blackness or anything but its deformed inside like its overheated

  8. Man another reason I am so happy to have hydro stores. That's why I bought CMH lights I just figured what happens if your QB goes out you're going to ship it back and wait weeks for him to fix it or? my hydro so cool I took back a light 11 months old one time and they let me exchange it for a newer light

  9. One of the QB’s boards I purchased from HLG was defective, i got a free replacement no shipping charges and they let me keep the bad board. I dont think they would be able to actually fix a bad board even if i did send it back.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, MY opinion, man.

  11. Yeah, it’s more cost effective for a company to replace it rather than paying shipping both ways and attempting a repair.

I caused damage to one of my test boards from China, and they even shipped me a replacement on their dime. I had a replacement in 4 days days including a weekend.

I hope that alone doesn’t steer you away pappa puff!

  12. I think it’s worth it just from the electricity saving you get from running these boards compared to other lights. Not to mention better spectrum and the fact that these boards life span is so long you will probably want to replace them well before they expire if nothing other then for efficiency gains. New LEDs are coming out all the time and they keep getting better and better, pretty much to a point where it doesn’t make sense economically to not replace them every two or three years at least.

  13. Idk if thats true because i got a refurb hlg550 600 bucks. Came directly from a guy who builds them for HLG, he’s friends with guy that owns my local hydro store. He told me the diodes were replaced but i think the driver was used thats why i got the deal. So if this is true they can definitely replace parts if they have to.

  16. That’s nice until you compare them with the 10 year lifespan of a qb with virtually no intensity loss.
