Ok so seeds arrived this morning just growing 1 biodiesel mass auto fem (Germing right now) got a bigger pot and box so more of a harvest hopefully. Well actually it's more like an extension. I'll upload some pics so you can all see what I mean. Anyway growing under 2 45 watt cfls 1 2700k 1 6500k producing 6000 lumens in total. Got a lighting problem though if anyone knows any sparkies. I live in the uk and have an american power strip with two lightbulb sockets which plug directly to the lightstrip I run this through a step down transformer to get the correct voltage and lights all good for about 5 - 10 minutes before turning into some crazy strobe lights they are literally just flickering but as fast as strobe lights and also the light really drops. If anyone could help Please do really eager to get growing
Since you are in the UK, it could not hurt to use a UK power strip, in fact I would make it easier on urself and purchase everything there. Just my 2cents
Thanks Purpleurksme appreciate that gonna start working on a new box when I get funds uk powered to avoid the hassle will upload some pics later planted seed yesterday at about 11am currently it is under 1 45w 6500k cfl 3,000 lumens and I am getting worried as there hasn't been much development. the stalk growing out has gone purple. Should I be worried. No leaves yet. Is this normal or could this just be the genetics of the straing. I'm growing 1 biodiesel mass auto by advanced seeds in FFOF temps around 65 - 74 and humidity is usually between 50 and 60. ANy help appreciated Thanks
Keep temps around 73, humidity around 65%RH can you do 24 hours of light? Compact florescence don't put out a lot of heat and leaving them on for 24 hours for a few weeks will help to speed up the growth and yes purple stems are completely normal I also recommend a small oscillating fan to strengthen the stem, just a little breeze Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I don't know if you guys have them in the UK but here in the states we have these outlets that have multiple sockets that one is just an example, but if possible add more CFL's and with the nutrients already in the Foxfarm Ocean Forest you won't have to do anything for the next 4 to 6 weeks, except waterSent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
sweet i've got an american power strip in my current setup to have mulitple bulbs. enough to get 1 more 45 watter in there lol but every little helps gonna pop a couple of 23w in a couple of weeks just another two one on each side of the cab. Heres some pics of the lil one taken 10 mins ago. Nice avatar by the way
Now, in the future I would stay away from autoflowering strains (but thats my opinion, they are great for stealth grows but dont yield much and cannabis ruderalis contains virtually no THC/CBD so whatever other strain they are breeding it with will possess the medicinal qualities. In the past I have used feminized seeds, germinated and vegged until you can take a couple clones and maybe keep a mothers around so you can have a perpetual harvest, just a thought..I dont know your situation.. . Starting from seed normally takes on avg. about 3 weeks for the plant to kick it in gear. I would also recommend getting a spray bottle and pH meter ($25) or Litmus paper to do the pH strips ($4). Water is very underrated and you should check the pH of the runoff after you water in addition to checking the pH of the water you are giving your plants. Can u get a better picture of your seedling? It may just be the blurry picture or my bad eyes but it almost seems like its slightly burned from the nutes in FFOF, however it is strain dependent so some may some may not. I would find some aerated activated compost tea from Vermi A product called super thrive and if they don't have that in the UK use some B1 vitamins, at a dilution rAte of 1-2 drops per gallon of pH'd water I would also strongly recommend you make sure that CFL is not too close to your little seedling. A good way to check is to keep your hand slightly above the seedling and hold it there for a little, if its uncomfortable for your hand than too close since some of the larger CFLs (like yours) will put off way more heat, check to see if thats another issue. I WOULD try to get my hands on some of the ~6500K than the 13Watt CFL bulbs i use and attach 3 or 4, you will certainly get more lumens. http://www.amazon.com/Flashpoint-Socket-Adapter-Converts-Flourescent/dp/B004L8XC34/ref=pd_cp_hi_1 http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-61-Polarized-Outlet-Lampholder/dp/B001OM1L06/ref=pd_bxgy_p_img_y Hopefully this will help, feel free to ask for help, bc this is a great website with a bunch of more experienced green thumbs.. Thanks man . Really useful info. I got a ph meter the other day. Nothing fancy. it's solar powered with analogue dial and two prongs so using this atm to check the ph of the soil. Gonna get some of those strips soon to start testing water ph. atm i'm using normal tap water that has been boiled and than left to sit fr at least 24 hours which seems to be doing the job. I think I had the lights too close so moved the plant down a bit and when I checked this morning leaves are now green and more healthy and not yellow and frazzled looking Gonna be moving onto the big boys soon but started with an auto just to get a feel for the growing and also due to the limited space I have. Believe me if I could I would be growing in a bigger cab under a 250w HPS but atm this really wouldn't work for me so making the most of what I got. gonna pop my other 45w 2700k in there in a couple of weeks along with 2 23 watts so will have a total lumen output of around 9,000 = 4,500 per square foot. Would this be enough to get a decent yield. looking to get at least a half oz and i'll be happy as this is all being done for my personal use also what nutes are good for flowering. Was looking at Fox Farm Tiger Bloom but some people have said this can cause serious nute problems especially with autos. A friend of mine reccomended advanced Big Bud Nutes. Would love some input on nutes as this is my first grow and really want to get the most out of it that I possibly can
hey guys so this is an update she has now been in pot for 48 hours hows this looking. Any feedback/suggestions?
Looks fine, only 48hrs, thats pretty good. I would not worry, by the way, what is the pH of your soil?
ok guys so it's officially 1 week tomorrow since she popped and just want to see what you all think.i've noticed one of the leaves is split a little bit and theres wierd yellow veiny looking things on the round leaf. is this normal?
Hey Guys bit concerned and need some help she's 10 days old since she popped her head through the soil however the leaves are starting to droop a little and there is a little bit of discolouration at end of leaves. the 2 new big leaves are the ones that are drooping and the lower ones are the ones that are starting to discolour. PH is around 6.5 - 7.0 I've popped some pics up so you can see what i'm talking about it's a creamy off whiteish colour. would appreciate any help as don't wanna lose her
Hey yea it's a self made pot so just popped 6 decent sized holes in the bottom also theres a layer of drainage rocks underneath the soil to help with drainage
