hey just started my first grow have a little seedling from some bag seed. i have been gathering info from these forums for a while now even before i started but i cant seem to find a clear lighting scedule and i was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of bulb to use at each stage of the plants life and how long to keep the lights on. any info at all will help thx guys. btw the people here at these forums are way cooler/nicer/knowledgable/tolerant than any other site ive visited which is why ive decided to ask u guys.
This is an older video but still kicks ass, its called Mr.Green I Grow Chronic. It will teach you the basics [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25BTuvs-AE8]YouTube - Mr Green How to Build a Basic Indoor Weed Grow Room - Step by Step Construction Guide (1 of 9)[/ame]
FIrst off I've got to say that flattery will get you nowhere. lol Second, rather than clarification of what is on this site, I think you want us to put it on your lap. Which is fine, but don't say you've been "gathering info for a while" when you don't know 18 hours light/6 hours dark and high temp bulbs (6500k) are good for vegetation, and 12 hours light/12 hours dark and lower temp bulbs (2700k) are good for flowering. Now that I've gotten that out... You can trigger flowering whenever you want, simply flush the vegetation nutrients out of the plant 1-2 weeks before flowering, and then switch the light schedule to 12/12. That's it. The best recommendation I can give you is to let the plant be as much as possible. Too many beginners overdo it. Cannabis is a weed, and will grow in almost any natural condition, any fertilizers you use should be light to supplement growth, not enhance it. Good rule of thumb for amount of CFL light is 100W of true wattage per plant. Hope this helps you get started.
http://forum.grasscity.com/general-indoor-growing/122824-kamels-cfl-guide.html That link will help you with some cheap lights that are good to experiment with if you are a beginner. As far as lighting schedule early seedlings should be on a 24/0 cycle at first then can be change to 18/6 (if you choose) later on as it matures. Hope this helps
The reason i started this thread is because there is too much information out there that its hard to know what cycle u should use. im not a stupid person who cant get the information from reading the other forums i have but all the info ive gathered seems to be a matter of personal opinion rather than one sure way to control the lighting. im not looking for any handouts just a simple understanding of the light cycle from seed to adult plant. u guys sure do like to jump on people if they dont understand something.
Noone called you stupid. But when you claim to have done extensive research on the site and ask the most basic of questions, you can't deny what it looks like. Anyways, I hope the advice helps you out.
for a new sprout start off at 24/0 ans when it turns into a seedling or like say 5 inches you may switch to 18/6 and to put to flower 12/12
