lighting for my sprout?

  1. Hey im on my first grow and although i have researched for a good time on lighting, there is a lot of mixed opinions on what works, what doesn't, and i just wanted to make sure i got it.

    ok, Specs:

    I have about a one week old bagseed sprout, in a pot.

    i had her outside for a while but its gettin a wee bit nippy here and so i moved her inside.

    wasnt sure what lighting to get after all its just a sprout, i got 1 CFL, 100w 5500k.

    The plant is about half a foot away from the light. Will this do for now? What schedule should i go on? (i was thinking 24/0???)
    the grow areas temperature rides constantly a lil under 80 btw

    all input appreciated.
    thanks :smoke::smoke::wave:

  2. Your light should be more like 2 - 3 inches away. Have a fan blowing on the plant to encourage a strong stem and to keep the light from burning the plant. 24/0 is fine for vegetative growth.

  3. nice! thanks!

    i put a couple books under the pot so now its closer.

    whats the policy for light on recently planted, germinated seeds?

    from what i remeber its none right?

  4. once she breaks soil
    let there be light
