When a person in a totally legal to grow state has had their seeds sprout the tail and then transfer to a growing medium, is this the time to introdue normal vegatative lighting? Most thing I have read say to introduce lighting and I am not sure what that means. Thanks in advance, I have learned so much on this forum.
Either use fluros, something like this High Tech Garden Supply or CFL's (compact fluorescent lights) 24/0. I use the fluros but you can get good results form CFL's too. I go 24/0 from seedling and you can go 24/0 for the vegging cycle which most on this forum do. Or you can go 18/6 for the vegging cycle. The "tail" is the tap root. Make a hole about a 1/4 deep, drop it in root down and lightly cover it. I start my lighting as soon as I transplant it. Keep soil moist for first week or two. You can also use HPS lighting also though most people will tell you that fluros or CFL's or MHL lighting is best for vegging. HPS for flowering is best although you may get varying opinions. I have learned most of this from this site. There are many knowledgeable people on here. This site has a wealth of info.
