Ive recently started my first grow from 2 clones that I have in my 2' x 4' closet. Right now they're vegging underneath a 23watt T5 and 2 13watt CFL's, they seem to be growing alright so far but im wondering if this will be enough for vegging? If i'm only going to be growing 2 plants will I need alot more lumens and wattage? I think im pumping out close to 4k of lumens and the lights are close to the plants... Any advice on lighting is much appreciated. Thanks!
Hi.. For CFL's, you want around 100w (actual) for the 1st and 30-50w for each additional. Your plants 'will' grow with CFLs but your yield will be fair at best. T5's aren't that expensive and will give you a much better outcome.
CFLs will do. You could invest in a HPS system. I find they produce much better results. Lighting guide.
