"Lighter" high from vaping

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by pliers, Aug 6, 2012.

  1. Do any of you feel like you get a lighter high from vaping vs smoking? I like those heavy numbing indica body highs, can you still get that from a vape? Thinking of getting a Buddha pretty soon, but I'm still on the fence. A plus is that I have a 14mm bong, so I can vaporbong just by sticking the tubing into my downstem.

  2. Don't worry about it, vaporizers often produce a "head high" mostly due to the temperature you vaporize the bud at, as well as the strain/species of cannabis used.

For example, at 185C you will notice that you will produce a light airy vapor that is mostly composed of THC. Turn the temperature up to 226C or somewhere barely under combustion, and you will feel the classic heavy-hitting high without the risk of combustion.

High temperatures should be reserved for nicer vaporizers like the Volcano, Da Buddha, or Extreme Q since most vaporizers will burn bud at "sub-combustion temperatures" (inaccurate temperature reading).

  3. I read on Fuckcombustion that a lot of guys like turning their DBV up to full blast, then ripping as hard and fast as they can, they say it gives a nice heavy high plus a fat cloud of vapor. There's one for 130 or so on Ebay, I don't know if they get any cheaper than that.

  4. I *highly* recommend the DBV, and $130 is an excellent price. I'm a longtime vaporist, and I can safely say that the DBV/SSV are some of the best whip vaporizers on the market.

  5. Do you have any issues with the screen not fitting correctly and grit getting in your mouth? I've also heard some guys say that herb can fall into the heating element and combust.

  6. My girlfriend and I have never had any problems with either of those, we almost exclusively put the dial on 12-1'oclock and slowwwwwwly inhale for about 30 seconds. Then the hit is held for about ten seconds for maximum absorption.

I love vapor so much. :hello:

  7. I think I'm gonna put my order in tonight. I was disappointed with my MFLB so I think it put me off vaping a little.

  8. I was disappointed with my MFLB as well. A great stealth vaporizer for mobility, but it simply does not compare to a high-end model like the DBV.

  9. I've tried many different temperatures on my Volcano over the years, and 226C (just under combustion, and my personal favorite temperature for getting blasted) produces a very strong mental high AS WELL AS a quality body high that will no doubt be unbelievable from an indica species. The rate at which you draw through the DBV will drastically change the temperature hitting your buds (slower = hotter), so keep that in mind when finding the right temperature. It's just as important as the knob itself.

  10. How do you hit it, about mid speed at 1 o clock? I think I'm gonna try that as well as the full blast one, I have a tendency to pull really fast.

  11. You will absolutely have to hit it quicker than normal if you plan on going near max temperature. To be perfectly honest, I've seen multiple people ruin their DBV/SSV by combusting accidentally while attempting max temperature.

In my years of experience, I get the highest off of a DBV/SSV by putting it anywhere between 12 and 3 (depending on how quick I want to cash the bowl and finish the session) and inhale EXTREMELY slow, just enough to get the vapor moving. Do this until your lungs are filled with vapor, and hold that hit in for as long as you can until you think you safely need a breath. Exhale.

You are now high as fuck. :smoke:

  12. I just turn mine up when its almost done. I thought the same thing until I realized that I was taking in less weed at a slower pace.

  13. Thanks guy, what about vaporbonging? I'm afraid of pulling too slow and torching my herb.

  14. If you keep it around 12 or 1, you won't combust. If it starts to get very hot, you can simply speed up your inhale a little bit.

As for vaporbonging, it does filter out some of the cannabinoids as it does with smoke. If vapor is harsh to you, vaporbonging will cool it down and make it smoother. If vapor is not generally hard on your lungs at all, you will save a good amount of cannabinoids that would have otherwise been filtered out.

  15. pliers, check your pm

  16. If you're worried about combusting accidentally, perhaps you should look into a bag vaporizer like the Extreme Q or the Volcano if you can afford it.

I love my Volcano because it never combusts, even right below the burning point. Gets me so high

  17. With a DBV I think your problem will be solved. Do NOT turn it up full blast, if you have a correctly working unit, it would undoubtedly combust.

You can definitely vape very thoroughly (getting more stoney cannabinoids, even more so than combustion) and get what you're looking for. I highly recommend hooking it up to a clean (uncombusted in) bong, to get those large stoney hits you miss.

  18. Ill tell u a lil story...

Vaporisers being inaffective compared to combustion imo is a myth

One of my close friends told me how shit the were for years, he has been involed in weed alot longer than i and also on a much larger scale so compared to him im basicly a novice.( i have smoked it for 10 years).

    O
    Code:

ne day i watched super high me he was using he cano.... tht sparked a intrest...

After much research i bought a launch box and still my freind was unimpressed... he agreed it was a good bit of kit but not enough to make u stand up and throw away he joints...

I knew this was down to the technique and the effort involved tho i enjoyed it i began to think about a desk top...

With the mflb it was 50/50 with every one i knew .then i ordered a eq...

Now my freind is hooked and every one i know cant belive how good they are they all belive it is a diffrent high but lighter.....

More stoned less of the negitive ie feeling sick and aquard...

All my mates now want vapes..

In the uk a eq is £190.00 which is alot of money..

and 5 of my mates want them when the money is there .. none of my mates would buy a vape unless they where as good as we know they are.

  19. yes its lighter, yes you can solve this by using higher temps. Anyhow, you may not like it as much at first, but sticking with vape you will grow to love it, you wont be experiencing any of the negatives effects you get out of smoke, the crash is no longer there, you will wake up more clear, my memory is also a lot better than when i constantly smoked.
