i have to manuallly turn off and on my light so can anyone tell me if anything will happen if my plants only get 16/8 or 17/17 or 15/8 ect. thanks
if you start getting below 14 hrs of light each day you could begin sending them into initial flowering stages. plants like a scheduled routine, so varying your light each time will probably stress the plant more than it should be. like Doubtmenow said, just buy a timer at your local hardware store/walmart/kmart/bi-mart/home depot/lowes/etc. in my opinion a timer is essential because you can't always be around (or awake) when the lights need to go on or off.
