So I have a feeling my Apollo horticulture dimable ballast I ordered is broken because when I switch it to 50 or 75 percent it does not look any different. But my question is, is it a bad thing to run my mh bulb at 100%? I have my fan blowing through my carbon filter and then through my light so I don't think heat should be an issue. But if someone could help me out that'd be great!
Keep in mind I only have 1 indoor, but mine isn't visibly different when I go to 50 or 75... not that I can remember at least. I wait for my plants to get 2 nodes on them to go to 100%. May be completely unnecessary. You can always run at 100 and dial back if you see issues. Be kind. Perfect your craft. Give more than you take. We are family.
My 600w isnt dimmable and I dont have an issue. Heat is a problem as with any light, but it sounds like you have a handle on it. The exhaust is half the battle when paired with a good hood. You have a cooling method worked out? Like I have an ac unit for when temps break 80 CanniAnnie's Quest for balance
I have an ac unit but I'm afraid my electric bill will jump too much. I'm trying to save energy. How much more do you think it will cost me to run my light 18-20 hours a day and my inline fan 24/7 I have a 400w light and a 6 inch fan running on lowest setting
For a 400w if your electric is .10cents/kwh then its roughtly.72cents per day for the light alone. How many watts or amps is the inline? Watts is easier to covert to cost. CanniAnnie's Quest for balance
My whole room raised my bill close to 60$ a month. I have 2 inlines, 600w hid, 10000btu ac unit, and 2 circulatory fans. Granted I've used the ac about 3 maybe 4x this year so far CanniAnnie's Quest for balance
And my fans max watts is 75. I run it on low because it's a 394 cfm fan and my room is only 40 cubic feet but I figure I add at least 50 cfm for the two bends in my ducting and my carbon filter.
Oh yea buddy, even if you run the ac, light, and fans 24hrs I highly doubt it'll go much over 40$ added per month. Definitely no more than 50$ CanniAnnie's Quest for balance
If I have a 600w, 4fans, and a huge ac and it added 60$.... 40$ should be about spot on CanniAnnie's Quest for balance
Nah, you're talking about a big setups cost. Down in fl I had 2 1000w, big ac, 6fans, a co2 system, and a hydro system and it was around 110$ added per month CanniAnnie's Quest for balance
Sorry didn't read the whole thread little pressed for time. Power to your light is directly linked to the size of your buds, more light is always better all they up to the point they start to burn only then is it too much. IMO a 600 watt box with 400 cfm exhaust only costs about 20-25 a month in power to run here.
