Light Placement and Amount needed

  1. I am going out to buy lights later today and I would like to know some things.

I am prepping a closet so space is shared with cloths and boxes with paper/computer parts from when I built my computer.

Will a single 6500k light cut it for a single plant or will I have to spam them around the plant? I had originally planned to have a single light hanging from the top of the closet that could be raised and lowered as needed.

If I have a single light and I add more of the same light value does that double the output light amount or will it just be the same has having light from multiple sources?

    Thanks for reading

  2. Please do not go cheap on lighting
    You will regret it
Ends up running you more money anyways because the grow will get very serious in a hurry
You can never have enough lighting (unless it is burning/drying your plants!!!)
Watts mean a lot for indoor grows
As well as genetics of the seeds being sown
I would say do some more research here in the city
Look at the stickies I am sure they tackled this question plenty of times

  3. Impossible to answer that question. Depends on the type of light and lumen output (or wattage serves as a decent way to get at lumens). 6500k is only the color spectrum of the light.

  4. Figure one <30 watt bulb for every 3 inches of plant you have. Up to about 150w for a single plant. Going bigger than that get's expensive, might as well invest in HID at that point.

You can use less light, but your plant won't grow as well. Depends on what you want out of it all.
