Light leaks

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by h3x, Jun 18, 2006.

  1. There's a window that has been boarded up with Sheet Rock, followed by Insulation and another slab of Sheet Rock. However, from outside the light still shines through the sheet rock.

What could one do to solve this problem? Would aluminum foil work?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. Just use a thin board of plywood and use caulking around the sides.

  3. i would try just taping the edges around it.. or use caulk like he said

  4. The light is shining right through the sheet rock.

  5. You must live next to a nuclear power plant where the squirrels have x-ray vision too. Either the sun is really bright or the sheetrock is really porous. I'd go with the heavy-duty foil.

  6. Well, I got contractor bags (heavy duty black garbage bags) and put two folded layers all along the wall and stapled aluminum foil on top of that.

  7. if this window is in view to the public dont put foil on it as it looks sus.. put some dark curtains up and screw a piece of plywood across the back.
