Has anyone had an issue where the metal part of their light gets so hot that it's slightly melting their case just from being near it. I know a lot of you will say "just move it away from the rubber part!", but it's not even on it, it's about an inch away and the rubber is slowly melting (not too serious, but I can see it drooping). I do have a fan and inside itself is actually relatively cool, just the metal on my light is extremely hot. Any suggestions on how to avoid this? Can I put something over that one area of the rubbermaid to stop it?
What rubbermaid is that? If it's the stuff holding your plant and it's melting your plant will definitely have problems too.
My plant will be inside of the rubbermaid. As of right now, I adjusted it a bit so the metal is a bit further from the side, but can I put up white paper or something simple to basically just reduce the amount of light/heat getting to it.
Can you provide us with some pictures? Hard to tell what you're talking about but I have a feeling this will negatively affect your plants as well.
