Would this http://www.1000bulbs.com/product.php?product=921 150-watt HPS light work for both the vegetative/flowering stages for 1-2 plants Or would i need higher wattage and/or MH light for flowering stage? Also how high should the light be from the plant?
Lumen wise you'd be ok for two plants, no more though. Optimum you want 10,000 a plant, 5000 minimum,.. and you want to keep ANY light as close as your hand could stand the heat to the plants to keep them from streaching. As for if it'll work for veg and flowering i don't know,.. I've never used HPS lights but I know with CFL's you want 6500K for veg and 2700K for flowering. I've never seen an HPS put out 6500K though... That one you linked is 2100 and that seems pretty low to me but someone who has used HPS could answer better.
