It could go both ways and be fine there is very little difference to be had between 24/0 and 18/6 both are good 18/6 will save slightly on the power bill..
Some of the best growers around here say.. 24/7 for veg,,, And also some of the best growers here say 18/6 is best the plants need to rest, So even as a avid reader its tough to give a straight answer... Heres how I look at it,,,, Let your system tell you what you need. Ive been told and also seen that 24/7 will grow 30% faster, I saw no difference in health. 18/6 also works nice and they grow a little slower, saves on electric bill, kinda makes you feel good that you let them rest.... But you do have one variable you cant conrol that is the ladies that are flowering, They tell YOU when its time to chop, so what I do is watch the ladies and use what fits best,When the ladies look like they have about a month left I look at the babies and determine what light will get me to the desired height to enter flower. If I need them to hurry I run 24/7, if I have plenty of time then just 18/6... PS if you have no ladies but are impatient run 24/7.. youll get there faster...
Man thanks for the detailed info /\!!! Well i know i deff have one female Nervana medusa 100% fem But rest were some nice bagseed they look ok now at 5days but ill takes some pics for you guys to see.
Its been said that fem seeds sometimes produce hermies, even up to 50% of the time. I have no experience with this, so I cannot offer my thoughts, but Ive heard they can be bad. A good friend of mine uses 24/7, and hasnt had a problem. The more light, the more the plant can grow, basically. I have also seen some great buds grown from seedy mersh, genetics are important, but not as much as enviromental variables.
Well boo hoo on my 100% fem then lol. But another quick question i just ordered a 1000 watt hps when should i switch them over to it?
The reason those baby's are so streched is the bulbs should only be like 3 " away from the plat tops. So your plants look compact like this.
yes deffinatly get lamps ALOT closer (as close as possible without being to hot; the way to test this is to stick ur hand under it and if its too hot for u its too hot for ur babies) also very bad to have more than 1 plant per pot the roots will tangle and i can almost garuntee only 1 plant will servive per pot no matter how many are originally in there and if somehow more did they would take away nutrients and compete for light with eachother; just better off not planting more in each pot u can transplant those to another though right; its far from too late for that EDIT: also i reccomend 18/6 ive dont both 18/6 and 24/0 and couldnt see much of a difference except cheaper on ur bill but those are only cfls so they arent too bad in the 1st place but im gona reccomend 18/6 still... hope im making sense this finger hash has me on the moon right now
Thanks for the feedback guys! I just droped those lamps a bit closer. But back to the hps i ordered, A friend said to start useing it when i get it? Should i mix the clf's an hps? Or just forget the clfs when i get the hps?
depends alot on what you want to do the hps is deffinatly the best light but the more light the better; idealy you could start a veg/mother room and a flower room (hps for flower cfls for veg) theres a ton of things you can do just start searching threads and watching you tube grow videos whenever possible it really helps alot
Ok sounds good so i guess ill wait to flower with the hps. How manny more clfs do you guys think i need for proper veg on 3-4 plants? btw current ones are 23watt 6500k's.
Heres a pic at day 18 now I think "shes"hopefully<--- lol looking strong O and i also moved the lamps closer but backed them off to take that close up. But now im running 8 26watt cfls and have a oselating fan on them
