Hey GC, im going to expand my grow room to 4x 600 watt hps/mh and i was wondering how much it will cost energy wise?
It varies tremendously depending on where you live. Look on your bill at how much you are paying per kwh. This may go up when you use more energy too so be aware. 2400 watts plus fans, and most ballasts use aprox. 100 more watts than what they put out to bulbs (that is why there is heat), other things, call it 3000. times 12 hours a day is 36000 or 36 kwh per day. times that by 30 days is 1080 kws per month. If your rate is say 20 cents per kwh your cost would be .20x1080= $216.00 per month. If you live in CA it can be double that. Also remember when vegging on 18 hrs it will be 50% more. Anyway who cares, you can't smoke that much so what u sale will be more than worth it.
