So I bought this pack of 6 cfls from walmart for about 5 bucks of 6-75 watt equivalent cfl's for flowering. I was in a rush and forgot to look for specific color temps. They are yellow bulbs but the box doesn't actually say what color temp they are. The box says "General Purpose" and gives this info: GE Energy Smart 75watt equiv (20watt) item #71284 Can anyone vouch these are the right color for flowering? -I've already opened it P.S. Google didn't help
Ok. There's supposed to say somewhere what colourtemp it is. If it doesn't say on the pack it is on the base of the bulb. You're looking for something like 2700 K (red/flower) or 6400 K (blue/veg). If it says a completely different figure it's the wrong one. These are the most popular together with 4400 K (green/-). I tried to see on that pack but the image is too small (found it on google). If you can't find it, what does the light look like? 2700 K has a red/orange tint, the 6400 K have a cool blue tint and the 4400 K is really green but looks white. But I'm pretty sure it says either somewhere on the pack or at the base of the bulb. On the pack there's a picture of the bulb. There I can see the text where it's supposed to say... check it
I found a page that says it's 2700K and 1100 lumens. Good spectrum for growing, but a little weak in light. You'll need about 10 of those bulbs to flower a plant well, and they need to be as close to the plant as you can get them. http://genet.gelighting.com/LightPr...r=FT0001:Energy Smart®^FT0025:General Purpose
Yea it looks yellow but doesnt say anywhere on the package. I only have 6 yellow on the plant and 2 white. It's only about 2 feet tall, it was a clone that is really bushy. 3rd day into 12/12 it started showing areas of growth with a ton of thin hairs sticking up! I figured it would flower quick, its been vegging since septemeber - so long in fact it started to shed leaves and grow new ones. I also give it about 3-4 hours a day of sunlight combined with the lights I have on it. Should be good yea?
