Light blew and plants were in darkness

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Madbuddz, Sep 22, 2011.

  1. I have 4 blueberry in the 4th week of flower under a 600 hps, as I work away I have self watering pots, on my return I came back to a blown out bulb and yellow plants :( they don't look particually unhealthy apart from the discolouration, they could have been in darkness for up to a week. My guess is that because the plants can't photosinth they can't use the nutrients that's been fed into the soil hence the yellow Colour, has anyone else experianced this before ? Will I need to flush the soil ? And will the plants regain their colour also what side affects will this have on the plants ? Advice would be much appreciated :)

  2. i dont have any experience in this but was there only water in your resivour for self watering? if it was a nutrient solution i would probablly flush out the dirt. getting left in the dark for awhile probablly stressed them out. ide give em water for a week to let them bounce back before adding more nutes. they may need to flower an extra week or so but i have never run into this problem before, so i cant be 100% sure.

  3. Yeah it had nutes in the water and in a Wilma set up, I'll give them a flush and let you know the outcome, I've never come across this problem either, thanks for ur help mate :)

  4. The plants have now picked up and started to regain their colour :) all I did was put the lights bk on and hold off the
Watering so the roots would have chance to breath a bit :) happy days
