Jesus knew the darkness from light, because He knew what the light wasn't. And the darkness is evil, because to abide by it, you infringe on the free-will of others! But is it possible to know light from darkness? I say yes. I was raised in confusion, knew confusion, conquered confusion. I know what I need to know, and am ignorant of what I don't. Because everything that darkness is, light isn't. And to know the light, is to know the flow of things. And to know of the flow things, is to know your place in this universe. We are God's children. We are mankind. And mankind was set on the earth. To til it, not to destroy it to create things we think we need. To go with the life's flow, is God's will. Like Jesus said, God know the things we need of before we even ask for it, look at the birds in the air, how well he takes care of them...
If life is what we make of it, then I make out life to be, what it is. Life. And our goal in life, is to make life better for not just us, but for everyone! And to endure nature's will, and to aspire to be better people for God.
Yea something wasn't sitting right when I was making darkness out to be evil. But can I ask you something? How would darkness be used by God?
There can't be light without darkness, else there'd be nothing to reveal that light was light. In many ways darkness is merely the absence of light, so to see the light and to understand what it means, it may be necessary to experience darkness so you can tell the difference.
Ive always really liked the idea of just going with the flow of life. It easier said than done though because of selfish desires and such.
I assume that in the context your thinking, the giant gas ball of light that lead to the big bang is God? Simple enough from there on wards.
If the darkness is evil and abiding by it makes one infringe on the free-will of others, then pretty much every christian I know abides by darkness as they seek to push their religious views through government to infringe upon the free will of others.

I'd like to point out another reason why dark might be useful. In the cycle of life, we need a balance. Too much rain makes a swamp. Too much sun makes a desert. You can live in both of them, but neither of them are very comfortable to most of us. I also want to say that I very much enjoy the dark. I am a thnker. There are fewer distractions in the dark. You can see the stars in the dark. I could not even estimate how many hours I have spent looking up at the night sky dreaming of other realities. I too must reject the idea that there is anything in the nature of darkness that is evil. If someone, say a close relitive, took it to mind that they had to worry about me because I enjoy the dark, then am I doing harm to that person by continuing to enjoy the dark? I believe that what you might call evil does indeed exist in the world. but I also believe that detecting it is not as simple as black and white.
Perhaps bringing our darkness into the light might be better but bringing light into our darkness might be a better starting point. I suppose I'm equating this to the idea of using m.j. to help bring light to us and then the eventual release of it so we can seek light on our own.
perhaps just realize we need both...... stop trying to side with one or the other..... when it is light .....i walk in the light.... when it is dark .....i walk in the dark.....
Nothing is dark unless you do it knowing it is wrong. If it is not wrong, it is not dark. Someone else's idea of wrong doesn't make it dark.
darkness is all there was........ until light was called forth....awoken..... to make every opposite....ever contrast....into the enemy this is the human fault....
It's because they only want what they feel to be good, and what they have decided is bad must therefore be discarded. They do not realise that it is their perspective that makes something bad, not because it is bad, but because they think they know what bad is.
