  1. I know I'm late but I just got round to watching Life on Mars and sequel series Ashes to Ashes and I have to say I'm impressed, possibly the best TV I've ever seen. for those unfamiliar with the show it's about a modern day London police officer who's in a car accident and then wakes up as a police officer in Manchester in the 70s, unsure of whether he's gone crazy, having coma-dreams or actually travelled back in time somehow
Ashes to Ashes follows up on the story with another character getting shot and then finding herself in the 80s and ties up the loose ends left from Life on Mars as well as dealing with its own stories and mysteries

hard to say more without giving spoilers but it's a perfect mix of drama, comedy, nostalgia, emotion, Bowie references, suspense and jaw-dropping twists
and unlike almost every other TV show it ends perfectly, all the loose ends are tied up and it doesn't feel like it went over past where it should have ended
