  1. i'd love a mises quote on that

let me simplify this for both of you, since it seems you are hung up on semantics

replace "nature" with "action" if that makes it easier for you.

maybe the reason you still believe in socialism and/or central planning is because you think human action/nature is something that can be put into one definition and then you'd be able to make everyone happy. its a VARIABLE, it represents the fact that every individual has different wants, needs, actions and productive capacity. it is not something you can centrally plan, manipulate or control while refraining from decreasing the standard of living for everyone involved (let alone actually raise or improve it). nothing can respond to that kind of dynamic to the ability that each individual gets to openly trade with each other based on a the fact that each item, dollar, effort etc has a different value to each member involved. only the individual can decide that for himself. no govt, no planner, no social system

  2. good post.

No one is forced to trade anything. This makes it voluntary trade. The power of government can always be increased or decreased by the masses.

it is a monopoly on trade, like the monopoly on presidents we have today. only one guy :( there are no costs incurred because there are no costs in society really. just products. and thus, no inflation. the government employees (like congress, not secretaries) gets the average national 'lifestyle' as pay.

no of course not. ideas are meaningless until put into practice, so why regulate them?

The governments role makes it easier to find others to trade with, kinda like a giant market.

It is better than free trade with currency because free trade will always be doing battle with those who want control of it.

    a. the people
    b. because then people are left in the dust

Someone who has the ability to (free education), and wants to tap into the 'wealth' of the energy market.

Yes. The people can decide on that, and at the next vote can always change it again. As long as the value is agreed on by most (not necessarily 51%), it becomes the correct value.

Then do it my friend. The food automatically comes from those who grow it with seeds of existing (now) plants collected by the government given equally to all for free (plants make seeds for free, no loss of wealth from this). Someone who exchanges delivery for other goods (remember, market database makes finding what you want easy). Which resources? Then your family can produce your, lets say corn. Exchange this corn, deseeded, for more corn seeds. Exchange some of these corn seeds for land, and grow more corn. Spend extra money on second car.

No, one can better themselves always, with good business.

Nothing. Not much. No they are not, and no i am not. Poverty being lack of basic needs, these people are not poor and cannot be poor as long as they have their small house, small land, and small amount of panels.

There is no need for taking things, except when things are exchanged with the government (not through, with). And the people decide what to do with those goods of course, i can't tell you if it increases standard of living or gets put into giant communes to create products to help people with credit or loans. who knows?

Nothing, of course it could be 60% or 0%, it is all up to the people to decide however often they decide to hold votes on it. I arrived on 50% because it sounded like a good #, but it doesn't matter what it is. There is no money, remember? The government is 'paying' with the product they traded for.

You better hope you can create a new market for whatever product you would like to produce :)

Instead of looking at it like there is no money, we should look at it like all goods are money, decided on value by the people (aka the market) and can be traded on such value for anything of equivalent value.

It is really capitalism (nearly free market) with a basis of, instead of nothing, a basic amount of necessities to live, and supplies to sustain yourself. And instead of the ability to hoard money, hoarding products just slows down your business. I say it is only growth because the system doesn't allow a person to drop below the starting point, so 'livelyhood' can only go up.

  3. People are the government, in a real democracy.

  4. hmm, that all depends on what the populace wants and if i agree :)

  5. The central planning would come from the masses, then the masses of a state, then the masses of each community. which i guess makes it really decentralized planning.

  6. What if the majority of people don't want to be controlled to that degree by the gov't? What if the majority people want you to go live on a deserted island by yourself?

  7. why should the "masses" have the voice for the individual? that means that each man empowers a leader or law for that matter with the authority to dictate what another wants, needs or has to do. where does that authority come from? at what point does one person have the authority to make decisions for another? echos of slavery

  8. Bro, humans are social animals. Of course not everybody is going to be happy living in a community. But people naturally tend to live in groups, and if there is something one doesn't like about his/her group, she/he can try to
convince the group otherwise. The trick is to find the balance of the
greatest good for all while still maintaining sufficient liberty for the dissidents. I'm just going to leave it here for now.

  9. one of my all time favorite quotes

  10. as well as

but thats enough for the night fellas...

enjoy the tokin, for i wish i was :(

  11. Well under your system, it wouldn't matter if you agree or not. If most of us want you go, you'd be legally required to do so, or face repercussions.

You'll find that the majority of people are incompetent, so how can you you say that this system would work when it would quickly spiral out of control based on ridiculous decisions made by the masses.

  12. I feel ya brother, drug tests are a bitch cant smoke cause of them till feb. Theres always beer and whiskey though :)

  13. oh damn man, that sucks... sad truth is, I CAN right now but i dont have any green... and can't find any in this dry town right now :(

  14. Yep believe it or not I got a weed charge for less than .1 of kief in a grinder. Now my university is drug testing me.

  15. man, thats insane! are you in the states?

  16. yep in NC

  17. I've always been told that kief counts as processed substance so it's a greater penalty...

    true?

  18. In NC possession up to 1 & 1/2 oz. is decriminalized, mj is listed as a schedule v drug. Bud, seeds, stems, etc all considered the same thing.

1st time possession charges are given the opportunity to be wiped off the record after the completion of a drug ed program, usually costing close to $200.
