Levo 2: Increase Strength with One Pod

    Hi everyone.

    I just ordered a Levo II infuser. My main event will be to make gummies. I love edibles, but the calories in cookies and chocolate and brownies . . ehhh, it's just too much carbs and calories. But buying pre made gummies is a real challenge here. Dispensary gummies in New York, currently SUCK. I get nothing from them, after eating the whole bag. And gummies from plugs are hit and miss. Some are great. Others are junk. So, here we are.

    I ordered the Levo II and two gummy mixes to try out. I also ordered an extra pod and gasket to increase strength. I have high tolerance. Unfortunately the extra pod is on back order . . and I only have the one today. But I am too excited to wait lol

    The Levo and Gummy mixes arrive today and I am very excited to use it. Here are my general questions, for those who have used the Levo II

    1) Following the natural instructions (one pod (7g) flower and 1 cup coconut oil - what are your experiences with strength? Weak? Okay/Medium or Strong?

    2) Will using one pod and half cup (instead of full cup) of oil . . . yield similar strength to 2 pods and one full cup of oil?

    3) Has anyone made gummies after infusing oil with two pods? Is there a significantly noticeable difference in the two?

    4) I saw a video that says Levo II can infuse up to 10 Horus. Will that increase strength? lol.

    This will be my first time ever using Levo and making gummies. I have high tolerance and really want to make the gummies as strong as possible.

    I don't have that machine, so the only thing I can speak to is the strength of your oil. You're gonna be disappointed using seven grams in a cup of coconut oil. That is very weak.

    thanks for the response.

    LEVO allows for a second pod (14g) to increase strength. Is half oz still too little for 1 cup? What would you recommend for stronger gummies? How much flower per cup of oil?

    I may not be able to put more than 14g of flower in the machine, but perhaps I can decrease the amount of oil for stronger infusion ?

    Truthfully, I have never made gummies. When I make oil for cookies I use 1- 1.5 grams of concentrate to 1/3 cup oil. I'd use the max cannabis- 14 grams- and the least amount of oil possible. Your 14 grams gives you about 1,500 mg extracted. How many gummies does your recipe make?

    Reading the quick instructions that came with the Levo, it can handle 5oz to 16 oz of oil/butter per infusion.

    Let's say we go with the min amount of oil, 5 ounces = 10 Tbsp and the 14g flower.
    1500 mg of THC divided by 5 oz = 300mg THC per oz, or 150mg THC per TBSP.

    The gummy mixes call for 4 to 6 TBSP of infused oil per batch. Let's do 6. so, 900mg of THC per batch. Yields 60 gummies @ 15mg THC per gummy. Ehhhhh. I have no idea if that is good or bad haha. But, I am guessing . . it's not really all that great.

    Thank you for providing some basic calculations for me. It helped a lot. Maybe this is not what I had hoped for :(

    I could eat 10 gummies for a good dose, but wouldn't want to eat more.

    I used to have a guy that made gummies. 1 1/2 would totally couch lock you. Haha. Like I can’t move my arms type of couch lock. I wonder what his ratio was

    I am in the process of doing a trial run and see where I land, working with what I have. I’m traveling tomorrow and so I want at least something. This will be something. And I can make adjustments on the next round accordingly.
    I activated 18g That’s what I had. I infused 9g of the activated flower into 1/2 cup oil for 2.5 hours. Now, I am going to infuse the other 9g into the same 1/2 cup oil for 3 or 4 hours. At that point, I’ll make a test run on gummies. Using 6 Tbsp. See where we fall.

    The reason I’m doing the double infusion is that my second pod has not yet arrived. And you can only fit about 9g per pod.

    Have you considered making oil for capsules? It's easy and you can make them potent enough to curl your toes. You could take a capsule and eat all the non spiked gummies you want if it's the gummies you're after.

    All the machines make piss weak oil. Return it and get your money back.
    Glass door toaster Oven = $30.00

    Haha . . . I think I picked gummies by default. I am familiar with them. I have had some great ones (although few and far between). I have tried some of the capsules and other edibles at the dispensary. And did not have a good experience.

    Home ones could be much better - agreed. Just that, being a newbie, I only thought "OHHH GUMMIES" haha. But that might be something to look into.

    Ahhh - Thank you for THIS!!!

    I will say that the machine does a great job at activating and infusing with very little smell. Which was so ideal for apartment living. But, if I am going to need to eat 20 gummies to get a vibe, then I have defeated the purpose of making my own gummies, to save money and get better quality.

    You basically make either oil or tincture before making the gummies anyhow so dispense with the food part altogether. Make Drugs.... :) Not food.
    I want to get High not Fat....
    Couch lock is from cooking the shit out of it for way to long. The recipe I use will have you dancing and awake all night if taken late in the day. No couch lock if the processing is short.
    Decarb 240 F for 40 minutes uncovered
    5 grams of Hash or Bud dust
    1 tablespoon of Coconut oil
    1/2 teaspoon Soy Liquid Lecithin
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Done
    Hash 1 drop = 3mg of THC
    Bud dust 1 drop = 1mg
    Fill 30 (0) single zero capsules.

    In each dish ..90 caps per.

    Someone needs to contact these companies and tell them to scale down the amount of coconut/mct oil needed for their mechanical infusions
    Folks are gulping down large amounts of saturated fat
    I infuse tablespoons of oil, not cups

    Seems to be a lot of apprehension around concentrating but adding a few drops of saturated fat to a recipe is a lot easier than a half cup

    I used to use my Magical Butter Machine for infusion but once I learned cold extraction and simple infusion I never used the MBM again
    If you can, try cold extraction and then reduce the extraction into your oil
    It will taste better and be easier to make potent without all the saturated fat
