Let's talk supercropping....

  1. I have a few questions on supercropping, specifically how much does it stress a plant, or does it even stress a plant?

I'm vegging my new batch of plants and rather than LSTing them, i am thinking of just supercropping the fuck out of them. I had good results supercropping the plants i am currently flowering but didnt really start until the week before flowering.

I know that if i supercrop durring flower i will cause the plant to use energy to repair itself which will take away from bud production.

Given that, does supercropping stress a plant at all during veg?

Does breaking the inner core of the plant constantly, put me at risk for hermies?

    -----------

The reason i ask is, I have about 9 plants vegging and i cant put them into flower for at least another month and a half. I can't have them getting out of control so im planning to just supercrop and top as needed.

    Thoughts?

  2. Yes, supercropping stresses the plant. You said it yourself. If you did it during flower, the plant would waste energy 'repairing' itself.

It does not stress the plant hormonally though. And, this is what can cause a hermie. This type of stress is usually caused by light schedules.

If you want a low stress way to train your plants, check out LST and fimming.

    Good luck.

  3. Thank you much. No hormonal stress... awesome.

I am very familure with LST and fimming/topping. I will be topping these plants but LST just takes so damn much time and constant attention. I actually like the results of supercropping much more.

    again, thanks.
