lets make things quiet

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by punkafi888, May 4, 2011.

  1. first my situation, i grow in my bedroom closet (3'x8'x6'). i do dwc 3 buckets. 600watt cool tube. it gets rediculasly loud with everything running. i was trying to find ways to make it much quieter. my air pump is huge.

i have been considering putting the air pump in the attic with the duct fans.

also have thought about putting up foam sheets. maybe that would help with the sound a bit. what you guys think?

  2. Try hanging the air pump....string

  3. or a spring that is inserted into an eye hole screw with a rubber grommet in it.

    "I am sooooo fucked.......YES?"

  4. the pump it not vibrating. its the pump its self is an active air commercial pump. its loud. but i guess i can give it a try. i honestly think its turbulence through the intake

  5. You can try foam, carpet padding, dynamat or be-quiet. Foam and Carpet padding would be cheapest..home depot/lowes.

I have a a pretty kick ass system in my car and lined the entire thing with B-Quiet..Dynamat's competitor and half the cost, then put a layer of carpet padding on top. All vibration, road noise ceased. My Honda Civic is as quiet driving as a BMW.

I would get a couple strips of Dynamat from Best Buy place them on what's making noise then wrap in foam. To get rid of excess sounds first find out where its coming from and isolate it. You could also put a layer of foam on the door as well.
