Hi everyone! I started some plants ( some germinated, some just planted in the mud!) I'm looking to keep them in my back yard until I find a suitable site. I may keep one in my back yard ( I rent). Is it better to grow indoors? What kind of lights do I need? I live in Louisiana; lots of sun/heat. How do I tell males from females? I've usually tried to judge by how bushy/short versus tall/not bushy. I've had success with one plant before; kept it in a 5 gallon bucket under a small grow bulb, bringing it outside whenever I thought it was safe. It appeared to become root bound (leaves turning yellow) so I put it in my garden amongst my tomato plants. I ended up with a quarter pound of some nice sense bud. I think I was lucky; I'd like to apply some skill and knowledge.
Cool on your tomato garden grow....lol...glad you ended up with some good herb.. With the renter aspect of your housing..security is very difficult all around. Indoor or outdoor...but I think it would be safest to grow small amount indoor...You know your landlord best...that may have to be your call... read up on past posts...lots of info there...questions you may have..may already have been answered there....but if not ...we are here....
Try to make things as mobile as possible, landlords can be a pain without even trying. Meaning, that any house repair work or something you might not have thought about could place your plants location in jeopardy. In my case the landlord decided to sell the house, holy shit was the first thought then where the hell am i gonna put the plants was my second. The wife suggested the garbage, not an option to me. I would have taken out the plants if i felt the loc. was in jeopardy, but not until then. i came up with some safe and healthy ideas, with the plants welfare my first thought. So I had the kids plant some tomatoes from seed. That one move explained about 95% of the odd situations in the basement, Enough said, man this weed makes me talk alot, lol.
Wow a QP on your first grow.. thats real nice.. I only mustered up around 2 O's, and I did shitloads of research. I suggest u go indoor in a hydro setup, its alot easier than people make out and GODAMN ITS FAST! My current hydro's are 2x the size of my soils. I would love to see what a CO2 supply would do in a hydro setup...
Watchout for pests indoors though, they have none of their natural predators and really flourish. I got decimated by spider mites... ;-(
