Legally an Adult but cannot purchase marijuana? WHY? COLORADO

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by PANDEMIK, Jan 19, 2014.

  1. I currently live in Texas and have been smoking marijuana through out much of my youth and now I am in College. Im legally and "adult" but not yet 21 so I can't buy beer, much less marijuana which is really unfair I can't believe how we can be denied these things but yet can be trialed like anyone over the age of 21. (duh its Texas) Still though its complete BS but i can't change it. I'm moving to Denver in August to attend school. Im really excited but I am also going for 2 weeks in May and would really like to experience the historical movement that has taken Colorado. Is there anyway I would be able to purchase marijuana during this trip? Could I maybe meet someone who could? Any ideas? Thanks for the love and appreciation!

  2. do like we did for alcohol back in the day and just stand outside offering an extra 10 bucks if someone will buy for ya

  3. @[member="TinTizzy"] Lol yes man thats plan B i suppose once I'm over there. Thanks. Do you happen to know the prices on an OZ in CO?

  4. goto weedmaps.com and look for colorado dispensaries it shows prices and strains. It's typically 150-300. Don't ask people to buy you weed don't ruin it for the whole country.

  5.
Yea because one guy asking someone to buy weed for them is going to reverse the legalization of marijuana in Colorado.

Don't you think things like this happen on a daily basis? People under 21 giving their friend 10 or 20 bucks to pick them up a sack while they're at the dispensary?

I'm just saying you don't know if the person is crazy or just in general, we want to have a good rep. Not some "potheads" as they say.
And if you read what i said I didn't say it would "reverse the legalization of colorado" LOL.

I said the country because we're watching, along with other countries.

  7.
I read what you said, and it was ridiculous.

How could a single person "ruin it for the whole country" ?

  8. It was more of an impression he'd make on others. If you don't agree with what I said then calm down and move on bud

"It was more of an impression he'd make on others."

OP - this is supposedly the reason you shouldn't ask one of your friends to buy you some herb while they're at the dispensary.

  10. yeah this is BS i would have traveled to CO if it wasn't for this.

Alcohol and tobacco are yet to be ruined for everyone, and kids get older people to buy it for them frequently. However, they would probably make exceptions and disregard this to protects the cash cow vices.

  12. It doesn't ruin it for everyone.

That said, let's not kid ourselves. Prohibitionists LOVE to bring up the fact that legalization, and MMJ, make it easier for people not eligible (be it due to age or not qualifying) to have easier access.

You guys already know this, so stop playing stupid.

  13. Just get a med card... it's like a cake walk in Colorado.

  14. It's one of the first states, about every state has already made alcohol legal, therefore your argument is incorrect.

  15. I don't advocate breaking intelligent and reasonable laws. I do advocate personal responsibility and common sense. Use those instead of advice and you'll be just fine!

It does seem ridiculous that you can choose to do more dangerous and detrimental things like join the military during wartime, vote and be on a jury at 18, but can't choose to ingest a beneficial herb. I sympathize with you, I really do. With that being said I have never heard of a college kid not being able to procure illegal substances, or substances regulated by age restrictions. If you choose to, please refer to my first few sentences.

I understand what aLoner is saying, I concur. Simply put he is saying what I said and suggests we all play dumb as we were once in the same position. It's a wink wink situation, and I don't know you so I'm going to take the moral high ground and advocate abstinence....... Wink wink. Don't get someone popped for your own gain. Good luck, study hard.

  16. How could I do that? I do have asthma but Im not sure if thats enough to get me one?

  17. Being a legal adult doesn't mean your legally old enough or legally able to purchase everything and do anything.

See guys the thing is I don't know anybody in Colorado and last time I went was 4 years ago when my dad was working over there. Im not very sure how the medical laws and legal laws work in Colorado. I would just like to know that when I do go Id be able to enjoy my stay. Im not moving to Colorado because I want to get high although it is a very cool thing to consider that recreational pot is now legal in the state. Colorado is very nice and Im excited to be living their in the ongoing months to come. Thank you all and namaste.

  19. Exactly my point. Doesn't that suck? Im legally an adult yet deprived of the simple things to enjoy in America while still under the same laws govenred to every one over 21. Its not very cool.

  20. Plenty of illegal dealers left for you to get some. Feel bad for the people younger than you. When their your age, getting weed is gonna be a pain in the ass.
