Legalize marijuana

  1. LEGALIZE MARIJUANA WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHTS I KNOW SOME PEOPLE DON'T WANT IT LEGALIZED IN FEAR OF TAXES ON IT BUT I AM ALL FOR IT CUZ I CANT GET IN TROUBLE FOR BEING IN POSSESSION OF IT :smoking:

  2. I don't think you'll find any opposition here.

  3. Hey, you should maybe chill on the CAPSLOCK, man.

But yeah, we want marijuana legalized for sure. If one doesn't want marijuana legalized in fear of it being taxed... well, that doesn't make much sense. Suppouse it was taxed. Why can't you keep buying from your friend down the street or whatever? He isn't going to be like, "Well, that's $50 for an 1/8.... with taxes, that comes to $62.48."

And then, well, why not grow it in your backyard, tax-free?

  4. I think that's why they're afraid to legalize it, it's easy to grow so they won't make much profit.

  5. I think they'll still make lots of money. Growing isn't that hard, but it can be time consuming and a general pain-in-the-ass. If I could go down to the 7-11 or liquor store right now and buy a pack of joints I would be willing to pay some big bucks.

  6. lol i know my friend down the street wont be like that will be 62.48 im talking about how the government will tax it going down the street to buy it was never brought up till now

Legalizing weed will be the best thing that could ever happen as long as it's set up so private citizens can grow and become comercial producers if they choose. If its all government grown it will be terrible.

But in the private model, after 3-4 months, after the first big legal harvests, the supply of marijuana will be huge. As more is harvested over the next few months, the price will decline greatly.

But what if? The demand went way up and America couldn't even grow enough weed to sustain it's self:eek:

It will bassically be that small time people could sell weed and not be busted but it won't be worth it because the price will have dropped so much in the legal stores that they will be risking it for hardly any money. Current indoor growers will become the first wave of marijuana sellers, as instead of having to go through so-so to get rid of 99lbs of weed, they can just open a bussiness and start selling it by themselves.

  8. Tobacco is relatively easy to grow as well.

    Logic fail.

  9. haha smartass aint my fault the caps lock button stuck in

  10. So go back and edit your post now that it seems to work correctly?

  11. Are you serius??

I'd love to buy from Phillip Morris or other huge tobacco companies. They have the growing expertise, resources, and money to pump out some killer ass bud for dirt cheap prices to us. We want big business involved in weed. This is a good thing!

Good for us and good for the economy. When weed is legalized I for one know I'm buying most of my bud from companies.

You really want to keep the current price of $60 a 1/8th for dank weed? Big business starts producing this stuff in mass production like corn and tobacco fields and we'll get down to $5 a 1/8th of same quality prices.

  12. Not at all, have you seen the list of shit they out in their cigarettes to make them more addictive???

  13. If it was legal do you think the goverment would add 500 more chemicals like in tabacco?

  14. ya i am pretty damn sure the government grows some damn good weed probably more then likely the best weed in the country and i don't see them going up to 60 bucks an eighth

  15. Yeah, probably chemicals to make it addictive.

  16. Legalization = more regulations stifling upstart businesses. If legalization meant anyone could really open up a ganja corner store, that would be great, but it's definitely not going to be the case. It would go straight into the hands of some corporate moloch.

  17. Easy to grow, hard to package. That, and the yield per plant is far lower than, for example, tobacco. But, let's go the MMJ route, and then we can legalize it for limited use, regulate it, and hand it over to Big PhRMA to control it. Better yet, let's relegate it to a medicine-of-last resort, and that way ONLY a government approved medical industry can grow and distribute it. Additionally, and just as important, said industry can justify charging an arm and a leg for it. Ah yes, gotta love the medical marijuana junkies and their arrogant ignorance.

    WINNER: Corporate America
    LOSER: The People

DING DING DING! We have a winner! Even if we ignore the harm that classifying it as a medicine does, we can simply compare it to the tobacco industry to see what a failure this would be. Tobacco yields more product per plant. In other words, more profit per square foot of land used to grow it on. And they still put a plethora of addictive chemicals, along with filler to maximize profits and ensure future business. Cannabis users only partake in the flowers. We can expect that some sort of filler will be used to comprise the majority of the cannabis stoke. Probably leaf and other useless plant material. Maybe even tobacco. Then, we sprinkle a few hundred or so chemicals to simultaneously make it addictive and ensure smoother drags, and Voilà! We have the makings of a successful corporate business model, at the expense of the public's health and wallets.

  18. Since when is phillip morris the government?

And if you would have read the rest of my post I was for legalization, but instead i guess taking one line and responding to it out of context was more fun.

  19. Where does the money go right now? Weed is about as expensive to produce and ship as tea, but is worth more ounce for ounce than gold. There's a lot of dishonestly inflated money going about, and a lot of people reaping that money and applying it to very dishonest pursuits. I don't agree with government regulation in the whole thing, and I'd think it would continue to be growable by anyone (though undoubtebly subject to some kind of meddling). I'd grow it anyways, I think everyone would. Either way, prohibition is an utter disaster and what we have right now isn't effective, responsible, logical or successful.
