Legalization arguments?

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by iamryan12, Aug 28, 2012.

  1. So every time I decide to get myself aggravated, and read anything that talks about the downsides of marijuana and why it shouldnt be legalized, I get stumped on one thing. They always say something like "oh this isnt the pot your parents were smoking." or "pot has much more thc and is more potent than it used to be." Well I believe that obviously, that is true, weed grown today can have 3 times the thc it used too. But why does that matter.....? If you really want to be picky, you could say that since it is more potent, it takes less hits to get high which reduces the amount of smoke going into your lungs. Am I just too stoned or am I really missing something?

  2. It's no stronger than it used to be, the stronger stuff is just more readily available

  3. I feel weed is a LOT more mainstream now then it was then, so many people smoke now.

The only true reason ganja is illegal is because of rasist
And the reason it's still is illegal is because people will bitch
"Durp my children don't need to be exposed to such a terrible gateway drug, now they're gonna think meth is okay derp"

Gateway drug is the biggest bullshit I've ever heard, you got mitt romney nagging like a dick about how he doesn't want to leagalize cannabis because it's a "gateway drug"
Are you kidding me?! When people use the term gateway drug I feel they're completely uneducated, I always tell my kids to know more about what you're against then the ones not against

  4. You are correct OP, increased potency = less harm due to less smoke inhalation. Not to mention there's no evidence to suggest higher potency = more damage even if the same amount is smoked.

  5. The fact that it's criminalized makes no sense OP, you won't be able to find good arguments.
