Legal question

    Ok, so I'm in a non legal state (ny). I rent a house and 25 acres. Mostly woods and fields. I planted 3 small plants in a small clearing just off the side of the field and I used a bunch of tree limbs and rotten wood that I cut doing general maintenance on the property to screen them from view. They would not be visible from the road at all. I came home today and the wood is gone and 1 of the 3 plants is also gone. My landlord's pay someone to come and mow the field. I think this person is the one who took my wood and the 1 plant. He's the only one that I can think of that wud even be on the property. If he calls the police and shows them the plant he took is it grounds for a warrant?

    If their regular dumb cops they’ll come to your door and try to intimidate you before getting a warrant. If your landlord knows he’ll hit ya with a 24 or 72 hr notice if he’s nice a 30 day notice to vacate the premises

    People grow on other people's property all the time.... unless there is evidence that YOU DID IT... then don't trip. Act angry and surprised that someone would dare go on the land you are renting to grow pot.

    It would be very sad and very petty if my landlord's were willing to give up 3 years of $1400 in rent paid on time every month... they are in an area that is not near the house. I suppose I can always deny. It might seem suspicious but I can't see how they could prove anything. Fuck... why can't people just mind their own fucking business. 3 plants. It's not like I'm a fucking cartel.

    Prob the dude that hauled away the wood. After he kills the one he took I bet he’ll come back for another or he’ll come chop it down before the trichomes are developed and you’ll both end up with nuthin. I’d watch what cars roll by over the next couple months

    Put up a trail / hunting camera and get photos of this jack ass near the plants and then turn HIS ass into the police for growing on the land you’re renting. That’s what I would do.

    Stealing less than 500$, misdemeanor.

    Growing cannabis in your state........ Felony?

    I think your gardener has the upper hand.

    You shouldn’t have tryed to barricade around them. I’ve had many plants in such obvious places it’s funny and nobody has ever touched them. You sure it wasn’t a deer that grabbed it or was it dug up? I thought I was robbed once until I put up a camera.

    Soon to be legalized though. The commission just released their report recommending to legalize for adult recreational use. Our governor is in a tough election year, only his cronies in NYC like him. I bet it gets done by November to save his job.

    But our assebely and senate end session this month so that’s a no go. Next year though most definitely!

    the barricade was only sort of semi intentional. i also really just needed a spot to pile up the tree limbs that i cut and had fallen and i needed a place to dispose of my christmas tree. at first i thought a dear did get it. it was only 4 inches tall or so but then i noticed that the wood had been moved and some was missing and there is no way a dear did that. i can’t figure out why the guy who mows the field would want it. it’s all just scrub. maybe ok for a campfire but not much else. i actually waited for him to mow the damn field before i even planted them. pisses me off. the landlord pays him to mow the damn field, not fuck with a pile of scrap wood that’s not even really in the field. anyways it’s been a day or so now and no police have shown up. i spoke with my landlord about another matter and they seemed completely normal so maybe i’m just freaking out. i really wouldn’t b that worried considering the size of the plants except for the fact that i literally just harvested my indoor and have about a lb drying in my tent in my basement. if they legalize it in ny, which i think they will, i really hope they don’t fuck it up like they do everything else. ny’s medical marijuana program is a joke imho.
