Leds on a budget

  1. Build me the perfect diy led set up on a budget for a 4x4 flower tent. Try to stay as cheap as possible while keeping away from blurple lights. Needs to beat an hps. Willing to build my own. What will I need and where can I get it?

  2. Ur answer lies with TBone shuffle

  4. You need to beat (a how many watt) hps?

  5. You’ll want 350-450w of led. More if u can to flower a 4x4. Do u want 1 light to flower and veg or two/one for each?

  6. since ur on a budget I’d go with the qb132. They run up to 75w each with no heat sink. U could build and aluminum frame and cover u whole area with them. Using those apps ppl do on here u could get them way cheaper them from hlg

  9. And by the way that a hlg-320h-c2100A ran in series!!
Idk if u can or not @ZEROBS maybe just need to adjust volts idk

  10. Is running in series bad? I went ahead and got a driver for each qb288 but when I build frame I’m going to get one to run them all on. Planned on doing in series. Should I not?

  11. 2 pieces Mars SP-250 can fit for your 4x4 area

  12. Currently we have 10% discount on our site with discount code that you can save 10% (Coupon code: kevin)
You can get 2 SP-250 at 399 usd after discount to US.
The product will arrive in US warehouse this month and you can receive it by the end of Feb.

  13. For each SP-250 its draw power at 250w, 2 pcs can reach 500w in your 4x4 area which can ensure at least 31watt/sq feet. Compare with other traditional LED grow light, it can save more than 30% energy.

  14. Looking for something around $400 give or take a little bit. Been thinking about the qb132s for awhile now just don’t know what driver would be optimal. Would 600w of the qb132 be close to that of a 1000w hps, trying to down grade from my 5x5 with a 1000w hps to a 4x4 with roughly the same yield. What do you guys think I can pull out of a 4x4 with 8 of the qb132s? This would be an all flower set up so would the 2700k be my best bet compared to the 3000k? Willing to run 2 drivers but if 1 would be cheaper I’d like to go that route. What drivers would push my lights to the 75 watts rating for each board?

  15. For that budget in a 4x4, I think you're on the right track with the QB132. I'd do 2 sets of 4x QB132 paired with the HLG-320H-C2100A and wired in series. I run my boards at this current with no problem, but I don't think you'd want to go too much higher. With 8 boards, you'd be running almost 600w (70-75/board) at the boards or about 37.5w/sf which is plenty to flower. You'll have to DIY a frame, but it's super easy, fun, and there are lots of youtube vids that'll walk you through it. Your cost will be about $250 for the boards, $160 for the drivers, plus some extra for frame, wire, shipping, etc. Not sure you can get it done for $400, but $500 is about right.
I run 4 QB132 at 2100mA in a 2x4 and love it. If you can mount the drivers outside the tent you won't have to worry about heat. I don't think HLG is offering the 2700K any more, so just choose the 3000K if you'll only be flowering. I run the 3500K full cycle without any problem.

  16. If they do have 2700 it’d prob be V1

  17. Exactly what I was looking for What wiring and connectors do you recommend? And what would be good cheap frame?

  18. I used 18g solid core wire and Wago connectors for my boards running 600 watts

  19. Aluminum L frame. 1/16”.

  20. I do the same as both of these replies. 18ga solid wire, wago connectors, and aluminum angle from home Depot. It's a very simple project. I couldn't find the wire and wagos easily around me, but Amazon has them.
