LED wattage requirements? Will dj LEDs get the job done?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Wake'n Bakester, Jun 14, 2019.

  1. Just a thought since I have these stage lights on hand already....
Please don't burn too many harsh lumens on me like the poor souls raked over coals for asking about black-lights. hahaha

  2. Depending on the light spectrum the short answer is yet it will grow you some weed.
Some weed doesn’t necessarily mean any significant quantity or quality. Simply put you could grow a plant from a desk lamp but it would produce so little if any, that it would have been cheaper to buy the weed with the money you used to grow.

The long answer is you will use a ton of power, most likely have heat issues and your plant will not do well at all because the spectrum won’t be optimized for growing plants and also depending on the light may not be enough “light” for the plant to maximize its potential.
