I was thinking about starting some using LED's i know it can be done but i dont know alot about using them. My questions are how many per square feet? Do i need different colors? Well you get the idea any thoughts on this would be helpful.
That ledgrow site is awesome. Im currently putting together prospective items for a pc case super-stealth grow. Led lighting is definately the future! However it can be expensive! Trying to get the perfect balance between price/quality is a bitch. I am looking into combined Led / cfl lighting. For the LEDs I found these which could be very useful for those on a tight budget LED Grow Light - PAR 38 168 LEDs Red Blue spec - * Main Function: 160 Mixed Colour LED's - 30 of them emit light in the PURE BLUE 460-465nmon and the other 138 LED's emit red light in the 650-660nm region. * Power: 6.5W * Input Current: 0.46A/0.23A * Input Voltage/Frequency: 110V-220V, 50/60Hz * Lumens: 400-450 * Input Current: 30mA Maximum * Dimensions: - Diameter: 120mm - Height: 150mm * Angle Sensor: 120 Degrees * Expected Lifespan: 30,000 hours * Manufacturer Ref: YZUASMU8JDS2 For my personal situation (looking to grow 3 (Lowryder#2/ak) plants at a time) Would say two of these bulbs, with a 6400k white cfl (of around 5000lumens( be sufficient?
yeah i found that website just googleing crap lol but im not going to really worry about til that guys get positive results, they are DEFFINENTLY the future though but for now CFL's FTW
