LED needed advice for a small grow

  1. Total newbie planning my first grow. We are allowed 6 plants at a time so I’m going to veg 3 at a time. I will be vegging in a 2x4 tent I already have and plan on flowering in a 4x4 (not purchased yet). There’s so many options and everyone claims to be the best but this is what I’m thinking.
A Migro Array 4 for the 2x4 and a hlg Diablo 350 for flowering in the 4x4. Id love to go cheaper but worried about quality, also I don’t want to have to supplement CO2 if not necessary. Any and all advice is welcome as well as what brand 4x4 to get.

  2. I like strips better nowadays as they can distribute the light better than boards, which have a really hot spot in the center (ie. too bright, etc).
I would recommend you look at the diode, not just the manufacturer. I prefer Samsung LM301 diodes, Are they up to H now? not sure.
I recommend looking at Horticulture Lighting Group, Spyderfarmer, Mars, but more niche, and my preference lately has been KingBrite. Check those strips out ;)
You will want ~ 35W per sqft, but I like some brights up top and some supplementary side lighting.

  3. IMO the best bang for your buck...
    2x2 - ViparSpectra XS1500 Pro. I would hang 2 of them in a 2 x 4.
4 x 4 and up - Bestva TF650. If you live in the US you can get the light for $300. I also like that you can adjust the light bars individually on the rack fixture.

  4. Id rec a bit more than 350w for a 4x4, also ideally not a 2 board fixture; it lacks the necessary light throw to light up corners and sides properly.

  5. get the best light for your area ....later get another

    good luck

ps I got 3 array 4's by migrow and luv'em that give me a DLI of about 40 each!

  10. After seeing how the Migro array 4 did in the 2x4, I ended up ordering the Migro 4x4. It should be here any day.
