Hi, I am a noob. I have a large space for growing indoor with a good exaust system. My question if you had a blank check for LED lighting system what would you choose? Watts, brands, and how many lights total. I want to grow two plants to start. In soil. The strain is Blue Dream. I have two t5s I plan to use to germinate and then use as side lighting during veg and flower. Thanks in advance for constructive comments. California Lightworks Solarstorm 800w LED using 5 watt LED Diodes with built in T8 UVB bulbs. 100% American made, 100% American made parts. All assembled in Los Angles California by Americans . It pulls 690 watts running its 5 watt LEDs at more then 4 watts vice the normal 50%. It has a Grow and a Bloom mode. I own it so Im biased but I have yet to read about one from a credible maker that matches it. Its PAR reading is higher then a 1000w HPS but I would say it performs like a 750w HPS. Weighs in at 35lbs as well its massive and sexy looking. Unfortunatley right now there Growers Program offers a less light I got mine in there program for 1k vice 2k. T5s are irrevlent with that light as the spectrum from it exceeds that your T5 puts out. The 5 watt Diodes on it give it incredible light penetration. Another cool think about California Lightworks if you email them off there website usually there CEO answers your email which rocks. Only other CEO I ever heard of that answered questions was Steve Jobs..he would answer a handful a week cept his were not always nice..lol. If you go to this website they have a write up its on the right hand side and theres a interview with there CEO George. The LED Grow Lights Review
Dude! This light is awesome. I would have never found this if not for you. Thank you. I will buy this. You have me very interested. My tent should accommodate this perfectly.
Make sure you have cooling. I have a 4 inch inline fan with a carbon filter. Have a variable speed fan on it and have to have it nearly on high. If I had a 6 inch one could have it half way for less noise...got a muffler though. Without cooling your tent will be 100-120 degrees. With a inline fan in a 4x4 tent my tents about 80-82
Ok. I will. Thanks. I have a powerful fan. 6". And carbon filter. I do plan on getting a muffler/silencer. My room I am using has been sound proofed. I do need to figure out the air intake, however.
Sweet youll love it. I do. Its a cool design to not like the 1 million other LEDs which all look the same..cool ass fire engine red. Works well to. Email them though and like I said they respond pretty fast. There owner is pretty cool. This is there official forum site...very low user count though but some interesting grows. LED Grow Light Forum
California Lightworks Solarstorm 800w LED Total Power Consumption: Veg Mode-450 Watts, Bloom Mode-620 Watts, Bloom Mode & UVB-650 Watts Maximum current at input: 5.5 Amps Plant coverage: from 18" to 24" distance, 16 sf for flowering, and 25 sf for non-flowering plants watts are watts... despite what people say about equivalency ratings... seems like a solid light for a 3x3 grow space... this would give you 72 watts per foot(anything over 50 is considered good) with the UBV on... not too bad.. and im a big fan of the UBV light(its too small for a 4x4) give it a go for the 2K price tag
It says 620 watts and 450 but my killawatt shows slightly more...690 and like 480. Not much more but its still a nice amount.
Yea I dont think I would of bought it for 2k...but got it for 1k. They have a perpertual Growers program. Right now they have the 400w Solarstorm thats 1k for 500.
From this California Lightworks SolarStorm Grower Feedback Program They used to do the 800w version in there growers program. You buy it for half off, post journals with it for 90 days you can return it for full money back or keep it at half off. CAL apparently is more into direct sales vice stores etc and using word of mouth with growers to get sales ramped up.
