Hi, currently setting up a new grow room, need some advice. Instead of 4x600w air cooled HPS lights, would it be possible/advisable to try and go with an all LED setup? I have seen some mixed results using LEDs. I figure it's about 400$ for a large reflector/balast/bulb combo per HPS lamp. add in the cost of ventilation, replacing bulbs every year, and the whopping electrical bill, It may be worth the initial investment of spending 600$ for top of the line LED. Any thoughts?

What you can do is have a mix of both...that would cut down on the bill. Let you do a run to see if its viable. Alot of the LED makers to include the above have 90 day money back so growers can see if LEDs work.
yeah, at 1000$ per light, that only covers a 3x3 area, I think I will go with the HPS. Thanks though, if I had a smaller grow it might be perfect
Def the way to go if your not willing to spend. Its why HID still outsells any kind of light. There cheap to make and parts are simple.
