I have a 500 watt hps light in my closet i was just wondering if i put these like under/ on the side of the plants to luminate the bud spots that are in the shade will it help the y e ild if i get the bottom more light. .My closet was crowded so i had to open the door n make like a tent. I have 2 dwc and 1 5gallon air pot auto 50days old starting to bud.. Some spots arent getting good light especislly the one farthest from light the tops are getting plenty light but not the rest of its not. 14998016793571716837092.jpg

  2. They're only 9w each so they won't do much, but yeah, you could.

  3. Those will be good, the ones with reflectors would be better, they look like a flood light but have a LED in them

  4. I'd remove the diffusers on them btw.

  5. Like this? It is a flood light tho... And i just thought of this... I seen ppl make there own led lights with the light strips. Im about to order some.. And just wrap them around the plant like a christmas tree... Or maybe even get led xmas lights any thougts. If i do this what color led strips for flower? White. Red . blue? Or i think theres some with all 3?? 1499810463057954531798.jpg Screenshot_2017-07-11-18-06-30.png

  6. Hi
I would say pop them diffusers off if you can,
So if those bulbs are 9w each, I would rather throw in a few of the 23w cfls, I used to throw a few around my main light to brighten up darker corners, seems to work ok
    Best of luck bud

  7. Idk about the whole blanket light bulb idea lol, but yeah they look like that but they are leds, made slyvania, 13w. They can veg a plant pretty well so I think they would be good. If you were looking for light strips, look into the bridglux series or hit up fleabay and search TCI linear led strip. They will run ya 50$.

Come with the drivers and all you would need are some 6 way WAGO connectors and a 2 prong plug.

  8. You could get a 135 (actual watt) led for close to $50 lol

  9. i'm using one of those to veg a seedling rn :D tbh, the money you'd spend trying to add 100+ actual watts to your room would be better spent towards a real LED grow light. a 500w HPS is no slouch tbh and should yield you nicely. if you feel the lower bud sites aren't as well developed, harvest the tops first and give it an extra week or two to fill out underneath.

  10. It would work a bit. I use 2, soon to be 3-4 full spectrum LED lights. 1 on top and 1 desk lamp hitting the sides and underneath. I'll move to 2 and 2. These lights were given to me, otherwise I would have bought a large panel LED for the canopy

  11. Im sure its gonna be enough its not like any part of the plant is actually dark n i plan on turning them every wek or so. To let the other side get more light.

  12. It won't hurt, but it takes a LOT of wattage to force these plants to grow. Better light gets you a better plant in every aspect. Make sure...if you're flowering more than one plant, that you give each plenty of space to spread so light can penetrate the canopy of the plant during the flower cycle. Too many just starting out have no real clue about the kind of lighting you have to have for even a single plant...to get the most out of it. One lamp is not going to handle a room full of plants regardless of how many watts it is. Light and plant need to be close as possible during flower cycle to prevent stretch and to get best bud development. Should never be forced to hang lamp high just to cover more plants. Doing that is shooting yourself in the foot since the further away from the plant the light is, the less good the plant gets out of it. You barely have enough light to flower off a single plant, much less 3. We use 1000 watt HPS lamps to flower with and only run 2 plants per light. Less plants, more light gets you a weightier harvest. All lessons you will learn in time. The learning curve on this hobby is pretty steep, but it's not rocket science. Your best move would be to spend the time to read up on the MJ plant and everything about it....especially it's nutritional needs in a soil grow. But also spend time reading up on lighting and just what it takes to get even a single plant to produce the way you want. You will always harvest more from a single plant that is tended properly and receives all the high wattage/high quality flower lighting you can give it than you would get by attempting to flower 3 in the same space. By the time you get finished with these, you will have identified 20 things you need or want to change about your process and set up. The more plants you grow, the better you get at it. But inform yourself if you want as smooth a road as possible. Best of luck and happy growing! TWW
