Just did a little curious searching and I found some stuff. LEDs put out some heat, but not too much, so that's not the limiting factor. Someone said that having too intense a light, too close to the plant (even with no heat issues) can "sunbleach" the leaves or bud. Not sure what the science is on that. But I found an LED manufacturer website that said LEDs need to be the proper distance from the canopy so that the wavelengths from each LED can all properly combine before reaching the plants. So yeah, it's probably better to go no glass and keep the light further from the plants. http://www.led-grow-master.com/Misconceptions.html
Thanks the green I appreciate the comments. Like I said its mostly trial and error, all a learning process.
I'll comment and say do watch for light-burn, it happened to me on my last grow a bit. It was on the main cola, so that was closest to the light. It happens pretty slowly, you should see it happening.
I had started to see yellowing in my Hercules and was pretty sure that was the cause. What Led light do you use? What distance do you keep your light? Do you get a gpw average?
Yeah that could be it, I'm using this http://www.advancedledlights.com/3w-led-grow-lights/new-diamond-series-xml-10w-cree-xml/ the 350 watt version. I'm keeping it about 24 inches away right now and it's doing wonders, my babies are in early veg and have very tight internode spacing. This is the first full grow under this light, so I won't know for 2-3 months
Awesome looking light, do you have a link so i can see your girls? What is the footprint/ or how many plants under onelight?
I am going to update it tomorrow since they have grown a lot, but here http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-grow-journals/1227668-my-second-grow-first-scrog.html?hl=second+grow%2C+first I'm down to 4 living plants in this tent (some went to another tent, one died). It's a 4x4x7 tent and I plan to use my 3.5x3.5 scrog net. I got an email from the company too saying they have a revolutionary new led light coming out soon. If it's honestly that good I may add lights to this grow lol.
Ok here they are july 28th. <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http://
Awesome! I'll make sure to update it tomorrow. I think I will get a gpw, shooting for a little more of course haha. You trying the same?

Ok so here it is...........I have to move out of the house I rent because they sold the house. I was served a notice that an appraiser was to be granted access to then ENTIRE house, I was forced to remove my ENTIRE grow setup TWO weeks early! It feels like Hell going through this grow just to cut it short by such a small amount of time. Its all good I'm relocating to a new house and will continue on with my third grow. So I was speculating about a month ago that my plants had gotten badly root bound before their final transplant. I was correct which is good and REALLY bad at the same time. The good is I recognized the signs of being root bound. The really bad is the obvious, my yield suffered dramatically. I still managed to yield an average of 1&1/2 ounces per plant, which isn't horrible but I can only speculate the amount of weight I've lost. Here's the pictures of the root bound girls......you can see where the soil I transplanted them into a month or more ago hasn't even been tapped by roots. The roots roots are all brown and don't look healthy at all. Next grow I will be sure to transplant sooner and only use seven gallon containers minimum. That's the joy of growing though, you live, learn and try to not make the same mistakes again. Other than those two problems I am very happy with my plants and yield. <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// As for the harvest I did get I have delicious smelling, sweet tasting, densely formed buds. They shine like diamonds. My largest cola came in at 7.3 grams. These are the pictures I took right before chopping, after 24 hrs. darkness and flushing for two days. I understand the problems I had so please be kind in your advice haha. Here's the pictures of the sexiest ladies I've put my hands on all year. <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href=''></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// <a href=""></a> ">http:// So please let me know how you think an amateur on his second grow........with issues did. I think I did alright with a bunch of room for improvement. Let me know, hit me up and watch for my next post!!!! THANKS for watching.
That sucks you had to harvest early It still looks like some sticky bud, hopefully it smokes well! I look forward to your full grow next time around.
Thanks carrot I still got one o shy of an lb. So I'm happy, and confident I can do much better next time.
Smoke report. So far very sweet and fruity. Started curing been about one week. Slight smell of very ripe fruit. Very smooth and burns well. Happy, happy, happy.
Awesome news! It only gets better from the first week of curing! With my current stash being around a month it's such a smooth smoke and smell. Enjoy
