led christmas lights??

    i know ppl say led lights are not practical cuss of the cost and quantity you will need. but what about led christmas lights like these https://ssl.adhost.com/noveltylights/merchant.cfm?pid=298&step=4 each lenght comes with 70 lights and only 20 bux!!! pluss christmas is coming up so walmart and other places will prolly have em

    i had to bump this to see if anyone thinks these will work and how many u would need to equal say a 400watt hps?

    I'm no lighting expert, but I would definately say that this won't work. I imagine you'd have to have a LOT of them to get any useful amount of light, and also doubt that they'd be the right spectrum. If it were a good idea, I'm sure people would be using it, but I've never heard of it. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but this just seems like a bad idea.

    after readin g the other post further down this page i think i will be making my biggest plant in dec into my xmas plant,ill keep it under my flors but im gonna string a red led string on it to see if it does any better than the rest for a lil experiment,my real question about this is how do they work ?are they all white light with diff colored glass or are they actually red spectrum or blue spectrum strong?anyway ill make sure to post pic when i get there...........merry xmas a lil early

    im talking about LED christmas lights not the regular ones. ppl have grown marijuana b4 with led lights. blue ones for veg and red for flower. i read sum shit about nasa exparimenting with led lights to grow tomatos
