LED 2 Questions

    1) Should I only use autos with LEDs, is it better to use autos with LEDs?

    2) Do I need a blue LED set-up for the flowering period, as I can only find red/orange with a touch of blue LEDs?

    Further info; Single Plant Grow per Set-up
    I have tried cfl but had to bail as cfls made me feel sick to be around. I need to try LEDs but understand they may not work with a grow at all, not sure about this. Is an LED grow even feasible in your opinion?

    Was thinking of using something like this and a few LED bulbs in a well ventilated yet compact area. It is only 10w, yet larger 90w ufo's are available. We don't have access to 300w etc. in my area.

    10w LED is a waste of time.

    That bulb won't do anything for you....you would get more out of a single CFL

    ok thanks, so what would be the minmum LED for one plant?, I am thinking LED is probably a waste of time.

    red is for flowering, blue for veg though you can use red for veg I guess.

    A 90w UFO made by a decent company (not eBay junk) is a good start. If you check my grow journal in my sig, you'll see I'm using (2) 90w UFO's in my grow. They are High Output 6 band spectrum's and are growing my 11 plants just fine.....

    Of course my 11 will turn into less when they show sex in the next couple of days and I cull out the male(s). I have a 3rd UFO I can throw in the grow if needed for supplemental light.

    I am about to start another grow with an 600w HPS light. I just wanted to see what these High Output UFO's could do. Mine are made by Lighthouse Hydro which is a well known brand that makes decent lights that yield good results.

    Make sure you get a light with AT LEAST 1w diodes.

    If you get LED's with multiple spectrums they work well from start to finish.

    I use a 45w LED for supplemental lighting only. That and 200watt actual CFL seems to do the trick.

    Thanks alot guys, especially the potroast. 11 plants under 2 ufo's, seems it is possible if you have had success, I will definetly check-out your grow. White widow, very nice. Guess that ansers my question about autos...

    I can't use cfl's as they make me feel sick, there are studies that demonstrate a biological effect due to the frequency of such lights. I just happen to be sensitve to them.

    So I was pretty down until I thought about giving LEDs a try.

    Ok, that is a very nice grow potroast, I had so many heating problems etc with cfl.

    Man I am excited, I think I may get this working. I will have to look into that brand and multi-band LEDs, man that is awesome how you cdont have to worry about changing the light :).

    Those plants are beautiful as the WW I had to reluctantly destroy to save my health. Such beauty is not for the pigs of this Earth, they will never see. So sad.
