  1. OK so i have a few baby plant growing in my closet but im leaving for 4 weeks and I have no one to take care of them for me. Is there something that I can do to make sure they will live? what do i do about water? or should i just plant them outside and hope for the best?

  2. you could set up a pump on a timmer. Get a small pump and a programble timer(like i have is perfect) You can set a weekly scedual simillar to what you are watering now. dont for to incease

  3. ive made a similar cock up with regards to the timing of a holiday and my current grow!

I think your best bet may be to make a basic water drip system, 2 L coke bottle with a hole punched through the cap should drip not gush out.. with any luck as the plants are still small they will not need much more than 2 L of water, you would have to test it before you leave.

I stole a load of pipe work from my parents greenhouse irrigation system and used a hydroponics pump to suck water from my cold water tank in the loft.. which is very close to my grow box.. this pump is on a timer so that every day it drips water on the plants for 5 mins. Not ideal but the best i can do with the timers i have..

  4. This is very difficult. Even if you can find a way to keep your plants watered automatically during this time the height of the lights also will need to be adjusted as the plants grow.

  5. Keep the lights a good 2 feet away would be a good start. You could place their pots inside a larger bucket, so that they sit kind of ontop of the bucket, and then put 6" of water in the bucket. There are many ways to go about things, you will just have to use what you have. I have heard of people useing the wick system, basicly they line a pot with some rope (what kind I have no idea) Like spiral the rope along the inside of the pot, and then let the rope hang out the bottom of the pot, and into a bucket of water as the plant needs moisture it sucks up. An easy route would be to plant them in some larger pots.. they would hold more water.. seedlings wont use much water at first... depending on the humidity and temp's of your growroom. Two weeks isn't very long, im sure you will get something figured out. Good Luck

  6. I don't know man, a plant goes through some pretty big changes in 4 weeks. I guess the best you can do is try to setup the water system folks have been suggesting and say a prayer. The chances of the plant be over watered or under watered with a rigged system for that long period of time are probably great. Good luck...

  7. what's the weather in your backyard like at this time of year? Because if you live in a nice hot place with occasional rain like australia it'd be fine to put them outside

  8. Check out these auto pot systems http://www.futuregarden.com/hydroponics/systems_autopots.html

I've had 2 plants in flower in the auto pots, and they only drank 3-4 gallons in the last week. The res holds 14 gallons total, so you could really fill up the res. before you leave, and come back to a friggin jungle.. If your using hps I'd keep those a bit higher up, and get some cfls for suplemental lights.. IF the plant grows into an HID it's gone it it grows into a fluorescent chances are it will not burn nearly as bad

  9. i kno i'm off topic but i have dat same fan

  10. Yeah I live in Maine so Im not sure how fucked the plants would be out there. You guys think that if i put them in a big pot outside that would work? they sould still get water but not be disturbed by other plants and that way i can bring them back inside when i get home.

  11. Oh really.. I thought you were leaving for 1 week. 4 weeks is another story. I would say.. best bet.. bury them in the soil outside. Maybe have a garden hose left trickling water. 4 weeks is along time.. good luck man
