Leaves Drying Out

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Palehorse22, May 20, 2006.

  1. I sprayed my plants with Bill's perfect fertilizer and now the leaves are drying up. Is there anything I can do to save them. White Widow....have been flowering for 6 weeks now.???????????

  2. You sprayed a plant that is 6 weeks into flower? There was your first mistake. Lots of people like to foliar spray; lots don't. Personally I don't foliar spray my plants mostly because it is not really necessary. The only time a plant really needs to be sprayed is if there is a deficiency, mold problem, or pest problem. Even then, the deficiency part can be taken care of by mixing the nutrients into water and just watering the soil. Anyway, I don't know if your plants will survive. It depends on how bad off they are I guess. Do you have any pics?

  3. I can assure you that I will never spray them again. The leaves are pretty dry now. I have a 6 site raintree hydro system and a 1000 watt HPS light. Everything looked great until I sprayed them. 6 White Widow plants 5 feet tall and full of buds. I was going to flower them for another month. I am sick!!!!!!

  4. Foilar spray is ok, but can attract mold/rot during flower because it's harder for the water to escape the flower. Anyways, your leaves are most liekly not drying because you sprayed them. It may be be a nutrient deffeciency, post some pics. If you don't have any, give us some detail on the appearance and your grow setup. Also, you can go look at the plant abuse chart (with pictures) on my site. Link is on top, "plant abuse chart by Nietzche" http://www.overgrowforum.com/modules.php?name=growfaq#abuse

  5. I hope these pics made it. Leaves are very dry now.

  6. Hard to tell whats going on here. A pic with the hps turned off would really help because we can get a natural color of the leaves.

  7. Palehorse,
I don't know what to tell you man. As long as you did not let the roots and or resevoir dry up I think the spray probably over ferted and or burned them up. Maybe you can just harvest it up and start over.

Edit: White Widow flowers in about 8-9 weeks. Harvesting now would be about 2 weeks early. Do you have a microscope to see the trichs? Maybe some will be ready and it will be better than nothing. On the other hand you just ferted so it might taste wierd. Choice is yours.

  8. guess that is what I will have to do. Took a long time to get those seeds and I did let a male polinate this crop so I could have a lot of seeds to use and share with my friends. Hope they will germinate.

  9. Oh wait a minute.
I did not realize that they got pollinated. If thats the case, between the seeds and the stressed plant, there is probably little to no THC. In this case harvest when the SEEDS are ready. You might have to wait a while longer for them to ripen if you can keep the plant alive for a bit more that will make this whole snafu worth it.

  10. That is what I was thinking. I have moved the hydro system out so the light won't be so hot on the already dry leaves. I just hope the seeds make it. I have some thai seeds too. I was kinda hoping to cross them later on.

  11. Yeah,
I hope the seeds make it too. Harvest when the seeds start to "shell out" of the seed bracts. Good luck man.

  12. Some good news and some bad news :

    good news:
    my plant grows great;)

    bad news:
    your plants are dead:D

  13. I cut them down today. I have the seeds. Hope they are ok. I realize what I did now. I mistook tsp. for tablespoon and put way too much nutes into the water. Live and learn.

  14. Hey man.
No problem. I did the same thing a while back. I thought I was watering with a one gallon pitcher but, it turned out to be a half gallon. Plants got over-fertilized. Anyway, hope you get the seeds to go. Call us back if you encounter any troubles.
